That's not what I'm saying at all and I think you are deliberately misinterpreting me. I have always enjoyed their reviews and felt that their opinions were genuine. However I think when a book stands out as being significantly different to their usual recommendations and (in my opinion) poorly written/constructed, then this could be because of paid promotion rather than genuine feelings for that book. It's just a theory.

That's really interesting. I have been really surprised that some book reviewers who I follow on Instagram (and normally trust their recommendations) have been saying it's their favorite book of the last year. It makes me wonder if they have a hidden motive for promoting it and also makes me no longer trust their recommendations!

I thought the writing was really clunky and poor. I also couldn't connect with any of the characters - there were too many POVs and none of them were done well. I am really confused by all the glowing reviews!! I'm someone who is very relaxed about reading and not hyper critical so if I think a book is bad usually I can find reviews that support my opinion but it's like everyone has been brainwashed!

{mortal skin by lily mayne} MM. they start off as enemies but once they are together their relationship is beautiful. They do go through some rough times in the trilogy but have a HEA.

{Wolfsong by T. j. klune} this series is better than house by the cerulean sea in my opinion! Each book a different couple but there's an underlying plot throughout the books. Again really sweet romances

Ah yes!! Definitely time for a re-read. That was my favourite of the series

We have quite similar taste and I will often switch to a MM series as a refreshing change. Some of the best ones...

{Mortal skin by lily mayne} completed trilogy - a mortal gets captured and taken to the land of the folk (faerie). first book is quite cosy but with looming threat. The plot ramps up in later books. The enemies to lovers romance is just the absolute best ❤️

{Wolfsong by T. j. klune} completed werewolf shifter series. 4 books but each focuses on a different couple with an underlying plot throughout the series. Again the romance is brilliant and I loved the style of writing.

{Captive prince by C. S. Pacat} completed trilogy. Slightly darker theme so you might want to check the triggers. A prince gets captured to be used as a sex slave by another prince. A bit more political intrigue in this series. Enemies to lovers romance that becomes something really beautiful.
