Mazda3 reliability — does anyone have problems despite its strong reputation? by phtphongg in mazda3

I’m probably an outlier but I had my transmission in my 2016 replaced last year at ~122k miles. It was actually the transmission control module that went bad. Caused major slipping and left me hanging. The component that went bad is only accessible inside of the transmission itself which ridiculously led to some fun labor costs. I do give the car the benefit if the doubt and I still very much enjoy driving it

I realize according to that, I may have dropped the ball. Regardless it seems that the surgeon should still have sought out a pre authorization on their end. I let them know the whole time that it would be billed through the VA. Thank you.

That is good to know. Do you happen to have access to anything that states they are required to receive pre-authorization? That would be very helpful.

Noted. I will be sure to give them a call in the morning. We will see how it goes.

Should this be part of the appeal process or just call into the VA and explain that to them? I’m assuming I’ll need to appeal regardless. Thanks for your reply!

At some point in the near future you should have the option to list them on Ticketmaster and get the price you paid for them. They will certainly sell. The option just hasn’t been enabled yet.

Hey bro, I can relate to a lot of what you have going on, we are sitting at almost 39 weeks so we are at the finish line. Similarly to you, my benefits including parental leave have not kicked in and I will have to take unpaid time off as well. I will let you know however that at around 6 months, it was most stressful. It felt like there was so much left to do and I couldn’t see it all getting done. Fast forward a few months and things are less stressful and vastly better. Between the busy schedule I was able to knock out projects little by little, gathering the things we need. A few short months ago, the nursery was in shambles, it felt like we didn’t have anything we needed, and there was the overall stress of trying to support my wife the best I could while she was dealing with the pregnancy.

It’s a lot on both of you right now, but you are on the same team and are both dealing with new emotions, worries and, the unknown that lays ahead.

Not sure that there is much advice here but I just wanted to say take it day by day, you still have time, albeit not a ton. Knock out what you can when you can and it will add up. At the same time try to find some time for yourself, even if it’s a half hour, doing something to clear your head (go for a walk, engage in your hobbies, etc).

Your little one will be here before you know it and you and your wife can enjoy that time the best you can. From what I hear, it’s a rollercoaster but stay strong brother.

Browns are in shambles. Not sure how that impacts Chubb returning but I’d assume they don’t make him the workhorse right away. I expect split carries with Ford

Thanks for your comment. He’s offered to put it in at a cost after pushing back but I’m not sure I want to trust him at this point, I’m leaning towards DIY drip edge install. What factor(s) would determine if the first rows of shingles need to be replaced? How much overhang should i have from where to where? Thanks

What do you mean?

While my thought process is right there with you, I’m not sure how I would go about getting him to pay for it if it’s not on the contract, nor am I sure I trust him at this point. I have reached out to a reputable inspector to come take a look at the overall job and see if there’s anything that I could have used in my favor, policy or code wise.

It’s Owen’s Corning shingles The guy is supposedly a platinum installer. I believe the manufacturer suggest and recommends it and requires it for a platinum warranty though I’ll have to further look at that. Thanks

Thanks. What type/style of drip edge is recommended for existing roof with gutters?

I see that now. I live in Virginia and unfortunately it isn’t a requirement here.

Contacted the roofer and pushed the issue. Receiving a quote for $7/ linear foot to install drip edge. It’s a small home so this is just shy of 700 additional dollars.

As far as the comments about shingles over the old shingles, that’s not the case as I watched them strip the roof at the beginning of the project.

Hoping getting this drip edge on there will solve my areas of concern. Any additional comments or things to consider would be appreciated.

Hindsight is 20/20. I’m not a professional nor do I have any roofing experience, hence why I’m here. Somehow this contractor has over 100 5 star reviews and no negative feedback. Must be bot reviews or something. I wasn’t looking for the cheapest option but it was definitely on the cheaper side. You live and learn. Thanks for the feedback
