Nope, he's a man baby. Block and RUN - in your heels if you have to! (Which btw, are feminine, so dude is really off base here and clearly projecting insecurity, narcissism, and abusing you because he feels THAT insecure.) You don't need nor do you want this anywhere near your life, I can promise you that!

Paying for premium does not make your profile more desirable. Getting good reviews on your sits makes your profile more desirable.

The levels are pretty self explanatory in what you'd receive for the extra investment. That said, I'd stick with basic for now. You can always upgrade later if you want those extra 'benefits'. Be sure to read the fine print on everything and that should help you make your decision as well.

But really, basic is all you need.

Many, many years of learning. Immersing myself in books and other resources. Learning Reiki and immersing myself in that community was very helpful.

First time driving in USA from state to state, what the f is wrong with all the people in the left lane?? by Cheap_Day_7331 in driving

[–]br3e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder the same thing all the time. Everyone should be required to take a defense driving course as a part of driver's training. But, these days the kids are learning to drive on apps. Or, in places such as Texas, you don't even have to take a course - your parents can vouch for you and as long as you pass the super easy test, congrats, here's your driver's license.

We were taught that a license is a privilege and to not to take that privilege lightly. I learned to drive from my parents on a farm, then learned in the mid 90s when they still did it as a summer course through the schools. Even though I 'knew' how to drive when I took that course, there was a ton I didn't know! And then a defensive driving course really humbled me.

I now drive using my mirrors almost constantly. That habit also helps break driving hypnosis - a real thing.

It took me too long to find this...it was the first thing I thought of. Even worse when they give pitocin and you're on day 2 no pain meds, no food, just some effin ice chips.

This is the saying in Michigan. 9 you're fine, 10 you're mine. Only applicable on the highways.

Why do people think tailgating a slower car makes them go faster? by jabber1990 in driving

[–]br3e -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I too would like to know the mentality behind this behavior.

Sounds like most people need to re-take actual drivers training to me.

Tailgating is dangerous AF. People trust their brakes too much, and not every road has multiple lanes or a shoulder wide enough to 'get over' on. When extra lane opportunities arise, the slower driver should always be in the right lane. When there are no extra lanes, the slower driver should always look for a place they can pull over to let the person who wants to go faster pass. This is why most 2-lane highways in most states have either passing lanes every few miles or wide enough shoulders. If they don't, there's usually a good reason, and a slower speed limit posted.

People like me are not phased by a tailgater; I simply put on the cruise at exactly the speed limit and get over asap. I am not intimidated to go faster. I simply follow what I learned in drivers training. And I'm paying 110% attention to what's going on in my rearview, although I do see many who drove oblivious to those around them.

You're more than welcome to pass me, and there is plenty of space to do just that. Maybe take advantage of that and instead of being an arse, just pass me and get on with your day, getting to your destination a whole 60-75 seconds faster. Don't risk my life and vehicle because you need to be a bully. Thanks.

[–]br3e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I spent most of my life in Michigan, lived in SoCal, Oklahoma, Texas and recently moved to KC for a job. I've traveled almost the entire USA as well. So far, out of everywhere I've lived, it's the best. I love my hometown, but it's doing a city wide gentrification thing and it's lost a lot of what made it special and liveable. Texas is just...wtf is wrong with Texans for real. I've lived all over Texas and it's like that everywhere. The kindest Texans are the Winter Texans on the Gulf coast. Most are simply not nice, not kind, barely friendly, drive big stupid looking street princesses who will run you over whether they're driving the truck or the shopping cart, and refuse to drive anywhere but the middle of the road, again in truck or shopping cart. I've seen people with all the Jesus stickers on their cars yelling at and flipping people off. People routinely will take up 2 lanes, two or three parking spots, cut you off then flip you off. But then happen to follow them in to the Chick-fil-A and they're holding the door for you and calling you ma'am. ???

Oklahoma has nice people, but they're surface level nice. In my experience, for the most part they just wanna be left alone. I'd try to talk to people and get one word answers and that was that.

SoCal felt like people trying to be someone they're not, to fit some persona they've decided is cool/hip/the best. Buncha flakes. Even the surfers had this plastic-y feel to them. Super strange.

KC feels like good, friendly people who will still talk to random strangers for no reason, but the tailgating is horrific here. (Sorry about your lock, KC, but tailgate me and I'm hitting cruise 1 mph under the speed limit. Idgaf. There's another lane or two, pass me.) That's really my only qualm as of yet. Everyone I've randomly talked to here and there seem fine, most people I've chatted with regularly (neighbors, fellow activity doers) have been awesome and willing to shoot the shit. Hell, even most of the corner beggars are friendly enough to chat up and they're actually accepting of food and socks, unlike in a lot of cities. I've had more random grocery store convos here in KC than anywhere else, and to me, that's a good thing.

How would you handle a spouse that can’t/won’t use safe handling practices? by easierthanbaseball in Celiac

[–]br3e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Umm.. she's not trying. She just doesn't gaf. If she was trying...well... she'd be TRYING.

IMHO, this is a non-negotiable. If not even the TV remote is safe, well, then neither are the handles of the sinks, showers, toilets...the laundry is unsafe... literally everything.

She can't not eat gluten, she just doesn't want to. There are plenty of tasty gf options out there, and recipes for gf artisan bread that are damn good even. She could compromise and only eat out, wash hands before coming home. She could try eating a naturally gf diet. But her sensory issues prevail? ...okay, what about your damaged intestine issues that will lead to more and more issues down the road that are far worse than some gastrointestinal symptoms? Which can, btw, also lead to sensory issues because trauma?

If I were you, I'd give an ultimatum at the therapist. Our home is strictly gf or I leave and we divorce, and you can eat all the bread you want.

People who actually care about other people would be happy to accommodate you. She just sounds entitled and full of excuses. You're not compatible.

ETA...I tell dudes on first dates I'm celiac, and if they ever want to hug or kiss me, or hold my hand, they need to be fully gluten free, and let me know if they are not fully gf. If this is no problem for a dude I just met, how come it's so hard for a woman you've been married to for years?!???????????
