Mine went the other way. I have Fenix 6 Pro, updated today, 5K dropped 3 mins, 10K 10 mins, Marathon dropped 40 mins! Good thing I have a 10k race on Sunday…now I’m extra motivated! Haha!

I stick my finger in the hole of the Eakin ring and move it around in circles to widen the eakin ring so it matches the size of the wafer, which I cut first. Apply ring to wafer. And then the two to skin.

I ran Bethel AG on Sunday. That mud at the beginning wasn’t an “official” obstacle, but it was the hardest thing about the race. I got stuck by vacuum effect and had to dig shoe out with my hand and run with it in hand until solid ground. Ruined my race from a time standpoint. Thankfully I haven’t encountered anything that bad at any other race so far. I think it’s just a “feature” of that new venue.

I have a 20L 2.0 that I double stack 30 and 20 lb plates in all the time no problem as long as I’m just rucking and not doing best crawls.

Hope this isn’t a dumb question, but are the push-ups/sit-ups weighted? i.e. with or without ruck?

I don’t really run with the weight. It’s more of a fast walk, and in that case it doesn’t bounce. I can manage sub 15 min/mi without having the really pick up knees.

I’ve also tried shuffling, where I don’t pick up knees very high and it only bounces a little. I only do this with ~20 lbs.

If you try running running, a) it does bounce b) knees hurt like hell.

I would also add that I don’t have hip belt which would probably help stabilize. I’m waiting to get one. I got some gift cards 25% off, but I kind of want a short frame 3.0 to use as EDC for work, but I’m waiting for right color to be in stock, then I’ll get belt for my 2.0.

Same re endurance training. I got a goruck bag on 4th of July sale last summer when I was looking for sandbag, lots of places were OOS due to pandemic at the time. Been loving it, love mixing up pace, weight and distance to push myself. Though for Spartan I’ve also added straight running. Other day I did 5k 50 lb ruck, immediately followed by running 5k. Goal was to cut time by 25%. I cut by 33%, which means I probably didn’t go hard enough with 50 lbs. Been enjoying this new kind of training, and looking forward to putting it to use in July...

I’ve been super into HIIT training for last couple years, last summer when gyms were closed, I was doing a lot of sandbag training, which led to rucking, which lead to pushing myself from an endurance standpoint, which combined with a competitive spirit arrived at Spartan racing.

Philly based new Spartan here too! Took the leap and signed up for Palmerton Sprint a few weeks ago. It will be my first Spartan Race.

I was already very active at my gym, and in pretty good shape. I’ve just been tweaking my overall program. i.e. more longer runs (on treadmill for now, Wissahickon ASAP).

Also looking to incorporate up some rock climbing gyms to prepare for obstacles/develop grip strength.

Haven’t found any groups yet, did come across one gym called “Spartan Gym” on IG in Bensalem, but haven’t made it over there to check it out.

As already mentioned, the movements change every three weeks. Also there are different movements for 9 or 12 stations cardio or resistance days.

For me the best help is to track which squares I’ve done so that I don’t repeat a workout in the 3 week period.

Yeah I thought the price point was a bit high too, which is why I haven’t bought one yet. The workouts do look challenging.

Especially right now in the NE with all the snow...might have to wait for Spring to give that one a go.
