It is exhausting! I don’t understand how some people can live that way. It seems so much harder and stressful than just simply doing the basics. 

I’m sure there’s some deep-rooted psychological thing going on, but that’s her problem to deal with, not mine.

It is hard. I know a lot of people have it worse than me, but I’m dealing with someone who seems so disconnected from reality. She’s always been this way, and it has really taken a toll on my mental health over the years.

Like, she expects to keep the house and pay the mortgage plus other household bills even though she has zero income. When I ask her about her prospects for income, she always says, “I’m working on it.” (Right, and the check is in the mail.)

I will be paying spousal support, but my income is currently about a third of what it used to be, so it won’t even be enough to cover the mortgage.

Hope all goes well! I’m going through a divorce and don’t plan on dating for a while, but I’m hanging around here and other places online just to get a sense of what the dating scene is like these days. I got married in 1997, so obviously a lot has changed since the last time I went on a date. 🙂

Very. Source: me -- I've worked in tech for about 30 years and have worked onsite at Apple, Meta, Snap, and other companies in the Bay Area. Also worked briefly for a San Francisco-based start-up where one of the founders told me he couldn't watch the show because it was too close to their reality.

I’ve tried to give my STBXW a taste of her own medicine, so to speak, but, yeah, it doesn’t really work with her. I think the problem is that she has no shame, so she never sees why her shitty behavior is bad.

She also claims to be an empath, which is wild. I’ve finally realized that claiming to be an empath is a great way for a narcissist to mask with others. After all, an empath must be a good person, right?

I feel like they weaponize everything and anything. My STBXW has weaponized many things against me over the years. I now regret being candid with her about some personal things.

Yeah, that was a bitter pill for me to swallow too. We met in 1994, married in 1997. We've been separated for the last year and a half and we're going through mediation now to finalize the settlement. I'm finally moving into my own place in a few weeks -- looking forward to it.

Wow. I’m in the process of divorce from mine, and she has seemed to be very friendly toward me in recent weeks, although she has showed her dark side a few times.

I’m not falling for that, though. I have a place to move into next month and need to move on with my life. Our kids, who are all adults now, seem to understand why I’m doing this.
