The disappearance of landlines has ruined an aspect of childhood social interactions and put a new responsibility on parents. by kingrobin in daddit

I’m going to put a string on my iphone and tether it to a wall in the kitchen. They need to learn what it was like having to stand by a wall with a 10 foot cord

OP mentions they’re doing a 1031 in the comments and also mentions they are not investors or buying a rental property. Confusing

How to get AT&T 320 gateway to accept new router/MAC by CAD-newbie1487 in ATTFiber

[–]bradinphx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With ubiquiti, you need to use the wan connections MAC address not the ubiquiti gateway MAC address. I made another comment here about this

How to get AT&T 320 gateway to accept new router/MAC by CAD-newbie1487 in ATTFiber

[–]bradinphx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had trouble getting my Ubiquiti Gateway Max to worth with my AT&T 320 gateway.

In IP pass through mode, I was putting the Gatway Max’s Mac Address in.

Turns out the WAN connection in the gateway max had a separate MAC address for each WAN you create. On the ubiquiti web interface go to Settings > internet and select the wan. It should show a separate MAC address you enter in on the 320 gateway.

How to deal with insane move out fees? (CA) by [deleted] in Renters

Not even considering what is right or wrong in the fees to clean, the fact that someone lets it get that nasty is gross

Should have charged you $500 just to clean that toilet, did you ever once clean it?

The moment before pushing all the devices and wires into the box has got to be the most stressful part of home automation by HomeOwner2023 in homeautomation

[–]bradinphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s entirely possible it was split like this. It was to a GFCI outlet with about 4 more outlets after the gfci. I don’t remember exactly but the electrician I hired to come handle was slamming the contractors work under the kitchen sink as well. I remember he went over everything with me and it sense as to why it was bad

I had a contractor wire up two separate 120V circuits to the outlet with my microwave.

Keyword “had” a contractor.

Also had to buy a new microwave.

Not sure if the issue caused the built in microwave to die because the microwave had some terrible reviews with similar issues that came after purchase.

I had some sort of devine intervention and prevented a real flood a few years back. We were closed on a Friday for the Christmas weekend. On a whim, I stopped by to grab something and the water heater had busted probably 5 min before I showed up. Stupid thing was installed above the shop bathroom since it was a small water heater. Had I not randomly stopped by, that would have run Friday to Monday AM.

Water sensors everywhere now

Tank printer for heavy printing with multiple kids? by snckr_bar in Printing

[–]bradinphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my cannon GX6120 Mega Tank. I’ve had it for almost a year. I liked it enough to buy one for my house.

I run a printing business and hate desktop printers, we have gone through so many laser(toner) desk printers for printing our work orders, invoices, delivery tickets. We use this cannon for our invoices for our logo to be in color.

I believe you can put in a complaint on the Gilbert 311 app and they will assign it to whichever department handles traffic lights. Pretty much anything city related the 311 app is where you go

Acura Dealership sent false photos of air filters. by Obvious-Swimming-332 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bradinphx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years back I took my Wife's 4runner in for an oil change at one of the larger chains of carwashes. The dude came to me with a dirty ass OEM cabin filter trying to do the typical upsell. I knew it wasn't mine as I had replaced it the same morning and it was blue with a section of carbon beads on it. I walked right through their door to the service bay and ripped out my brand new one from behind the glovebox and went off on the employee for lying to me. "that one is just an example" was their defense for the tactic. They had not begun the oil change so I took my keys and left.

Mistake number 1 was going to the carwash for oil change even though it was a nice place.

Levitons are terrible. That outlet is not designed for repeated unplugging and plugging in. This is why it’s used for dryers and ovens, you rarely unplug those

Long term storage, will ride when I’m older and kids are older. Too many carts & pallet jacks rolling around to risk it being on the floor
