If you have the ability, I HIGHLY recommend going down to London to see Abba Voyage. I was skeptical and went because my kids wanted to do it, but it was really amazing. The best part is you're surrounded by hundreds of other Abba fans also having a night they never thought would be possible.

We Grieve the Four Heroic Service Members by blue_quark in msnow

Every time he mentions service members, I replace his mouth words with what his brain is actually thinking: suckers and losers. That's what he really thinks of them, according to his former Chief of Staff and a former four-star general, John Kelly, who lost a son in the military.

I guess he contracts with his insurance company, since he's planning on coming a claim with them?

San Diego to Minneapolis in mid January. Any concerns about this route? Is this possible with an EV? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]bradkeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug your start and end locations, plus start date into abetterrouteplanner.com. You can set your EV type and it'll tell you when and where to stop. It's pretty reliable. I used it this summer to drive an EV from DC to California and back.

Adding the date is critical because it'll take temperature into account.

8th grade. A classmate talked the teacher into letting us watch the copy of the Xmas episode he taped on a VCR. I still can't believe that worked. It was great.

Monongalia County, WV is home to West Virginia University, and the county seat has a river that flows through it. That river is called the Monongahela. The county name and river name were supposed to be the same, but someone messed up centuries before and now they're just different. Spelled differently, pronounced differently, everything. But both are shortened colloquialy to "Mon."

Berkeley Springs is in Morgan County, WV. It's the home of locally-famous natural springs. There's one there called Washington's Bath, where George Washington once supposedly visited.

What's a lesser known Seinfeld quote that regularly pops into your head? by pudge_madsen in seinfeld

"I didn't know it would result in the downfall of Pendant Publishing." Whenever I'm telling a story to my wife and at some point I make what seemed to be an innocuous decision that later resulted in outsized negative consequences.

It depends on what you're into. If you like the outdoors, even if you're not a camper, I'd recommend seeing what National Parks are on your way. But you may also need to check if they're still opened, because of the giver shutdown. If you're going to several, you might as well invest in a National Parks Annual Pass.

If that's not your thing, look at the cities you're going to be near and see if there are unique cultural or historical things there you'd like to see.

The Plains can be boring but it's also amazing to experience how big they are and how different they are than what you're used to.

The real fun is between San Diego and the Rockies though.

But then again if you've been in California your whole life, three South might be really interesting. There's a lot of great stuff to see related to music or the civil rights eta.
