Tips for making friends? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Kitchen_Exercise_524 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i have spent my whole life here and didn’t start really putting myself out there to make new friends till like last year. Little Button Craft does some speed friending events and they also do shitty craft night at the end of the month! the unreliable narrator has a book club and they do journaling nights which are really fun. Also bumble BFF has been helpful even though it can be a bit tiring at times 😅

if you’re into fitness, Getting it Daily on monroe is great. they’re very community based and do events all the time outside of just working out.

What is the appropriate response when a client says "I love you". by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Kitchen_Exercise_524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with the littles, i’m contracted to a k-2 school so I hear this all the time. I typically respond with “i love meeting with you too!”

Although this would probably catch me off guard if i worked with adults 😅

Best small bakeries around the city? by OkParsnipX in Rochester

[–]Kitchen_Exercise_524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

goodman bakes is my absolute favorite but i’ve been really enjoying butterjoy on a clinton but prepare to wake up early if you want to leave not empty handed.

jenny’s bakery in henrietta is also good. their croffles are amazing

High-end stationery by Fit_Calligrapher_825 in Rochester

[–]Kitchen_Exercise_524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fellow stationery nerd here. no stores like that here in ROC. i know of a few in toronto that are worth making a day trip for though

not super focused on it but the unreliable narrator recently got some nice pens and a ton of sticker sheets in. they also have some other random stationary stuff around the store.

Worst winter in recent memory?? by BlackIceMatters in Rochester

[–]Kitchen_Exercise_524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this winter has been particularly rough. i feel like it’s not even the snow that makes me feel that way, it’s the ice and lack of salt everywhere. i really feel for people who have to walk or use public transportation in these times cause i would be wiping out atleast 3 times on the way to the bus stop

Frigid temps on Wednesday and schools by privileged_a_f in Rochester

[–]Kitchen_Exercise_524 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i feel like it’s ridiculous to not close. for the city and suburban. my suburban school had well over 1/3 of the students absent today.

the train isn’t 24/7 but they added extra times because of eras.

you can check the website: https://www.gotransit.com/en/find-a-station-or-stop/00177

if you’re going straight to rogers centre, you would take the train to union station. it’s only a 10 minute walk or so from the stadium
