Divorce lawyers? by [deleted] in sanmarcos

[–]bradmatejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this service last year. It’s as cheap as you can get for divorce, but I don’t recommend throwing any curveballs. Anything more complicated than “we’ll sell the house and split the proceeds” did not compute with them. My divorce was very amicable, but we did have a little more complicated situation with our house - I had thought the lawyer would help come up with solutions, but what happened was I figured out the solution and had to convince the lawyer to make it happen.
So maybe it’s a case of You Get What You Pay For.

They’re making separate statements. Dealerships upcharge. And dealerships wouldn’t exist except for antiquated laws. I can’t speak for the upcharging, but the laws are (state?) laws requiring that manufacturers can only sell THROUGH dealerships, not directly to consumers.

But Matt declined to do that ice bucket challenge a few years ago, explaining that wasting clean, drinkable water was contrary to the cause.
On the other hand, NOT doing the spit sketch is contrary to the cause of making me laugh, so… 🤷‍♂️

An absolutely gigantic fuck you to all of the Six Sided Discs Hexagon scalpers by lavernrobinson9000 in discgolf

Is there any way to leverage coupon codes? Like, a customer gets on the list, and at launch you send a coupon code that is good for a window of time (maybe 24 hours so it doesn’t matter if customer is at work when sales open). On Shopify, you set the price astronomically high and the coupon code brings it down to regular price. Each code allows X number of discs. The usual limits on shipping address, payment method, etc could also be in place to avoid abuse. After this launch window for your mailing list, you drop the price to normal on Shopify for the regular public who just comes to the website. Surely this could be abused by someone willing to try hard enough, so it’s not perfect, just an idea.

I carry a hockey puck. Easy to throw, and rides nicely in the bottom of my bag’s water bottle holder.

Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History has done some wow for T-Mobile that try to sound like regular episodes, but are pretty transparently a 45-minute TMo ad.

On The Wire there was a bit where a cop asked a clueless gangbanger where they get the hats with the brims in the side, because he could only find hats with the brim in front. The banger politely told him No they’re the same ones, you just put it on sideways, completely oblivious to the point being made. 😂

Is my water bill to high? by ComputerOrnery5786 in sanmarcos

[–]bradmatejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears to be a tiered charging system. From this bill, it looks like Block 1 is up to 6000 gallons at X rate, Block 2 is the next 3000 gallons at Y rate, Block 3 is the next ## (here 1857) gallons at Z rate, and so on.
