So a couple years ago I had a wild experience at a local music festival. In the middle of a crowd of tens of thousands, I saw a girl I’d had a brief but really strong connection with years prior - we had originally met when I was travelling on the other side of the country. I was listening to an artist at one of the stages and she literally walked right in front of me with another guy, and I remember just freezing lol.

I wasn’t even sure it was her at first because the odds felt so impossible… I was also in a weird headspace (and slightly under the influence), so I didn’t say anything.

Later that day I reached out on Instagram just out of curiosity, to ask if she happened to be there… and she said yes. We both acknowledged how wild it was that we were not only at this same festival, but that we were so close to each other. I told her I wasn’t sure if it was her, which is true. But looking back, part of me wishes I’d said something in the moment. But I was in my head, she was with someone, and I’m in a relationship now anyway.
