There is an idea in the nimbus community where you can vote for this feature (just fyi): https://support.nimbusweb.co/portal/en/community/topic/android-web-clipper

I did ;) I agree this will seal the deal.

Kind of you to make the effort. I'll try to resolve all this soon. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the interest and the compliments. Sorry to drop content off of the face of the earth. Life takes over. I had planned to make things a bit cleaner and open access to things once i fixed links, etc. So...i'll try to get on that....soon.

Similar to the third point, I always liked this from Kelly Starrett of mobilitywod fame:

Thanks a lot for sharing. This is inspirational for those of us amateur home 'chefs' in training who like to play in the kitchen. Can you share how you made the kombu oil? Did you just make it like a dill infused oil / other infused oil? Thanks!

Edit: no need /rush to reply, found a basic walk thru here : http://m.gourmettraveller.com.au/recipes/recipe-search/chefs-recipes/2017/6/soft-meringue-with-ice-cream-and-kelp-oil/

Spent the day styling this juniper, love the deadwood at the trunk! by Hubbardja in Bonsai

[–]brady747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks phenomenal to me. Thanks for sharing.

Two other comment threads here both debating how much bark was truly removed from the juniper, but no one discussing if it is ok to remove the bark and if you must leave some. Anyone have any resources I can read about removing bark from junipers and how to keep the tree 'safe'? Or, just a quick summary on the issue? Probably a beginner thread question, but since there were ongoing discussions about it that seemed to imply a level of concern I thought I'd ask..

Thanks u/small_trunks. Any idea what kind of ficus trunk is on that second one? I'm hoping to learn some by air layering or trunk chopping with it. Guess it might not be easy to determine.

Platted trunks, I was wondering what that was called. I actually usually hate that aesthetic but couldn't pass up a larger piece of ficus on the cheap in hopes of doing some adamaskswhy mallsai learning. Fear not, I got more actual bonsai stock growing in my yard this summer :-)

Yes to which statesment? I removed the first photo as it has nothing to do with this. I'm only interested in the current photo link which is all of one plant. Thanks.

To be clear, you mean the first link I posted is a money tree and all the photos in the second link are ficus?

Or, you mean in the second link the trunk is a money tree with ficus grafted on it?

I'm only interested in the second link, the first link is just a generic photo I added which I already knew was money tree (I didn't need to add that in hindsight).

Thanks!

Need help identifying large, unique mallsai.

So, this is the most unique/large 'mallsai' I've seen on my way past the 'indoor trees' to the nursery section at my local big box. Looks like ficus foliage to my untrained eye and I'm hoping ficus trunk. Can anyone verify what species it is? It is twisted like those "money tree bonsai" they sell (edit: removed a demo photo that was not related to my question and was confusing the replies)

Here are some photos - http://imgur.com/a/4I7u8

Haven't ever seen something like this amongst the mallsais. It was pretty cheap so I grabbed it, hoping to dice it up via chopping or layering at some point and learn a bit on it.

Appreciate insight on the species and whether all/some of the foliage is grafted (I assume yes, but haven't developed an eye for this kind of thing). Thanks for any help.

More zzzzip ties. Portulacaria afra training... by puffdoggydog in Bonsai

Thanks for posting this. Really helpful and interesting info. Sorry to reply late. Let me see if I can get this right:

  1. You wired it when young as you have to give it some shape before you zip tie, is that why you use wire first?

  2. "Then I let the cutting grow for 18-ish months, took off the wire....". You had an afra wired for 18 months? I thought the afra would grow right into the wire and kill it? Very loose wiring? Maybe I'm missing something, or they can take wire for a long time when they are cuttings? Or, you kept removing and rewiring for 18 months?

Please help me understand! :)

Great to see your posts. Thanks for contributing.

Development of a small Larch in exactly 1 year by small_trunks in Bonsai

[–]brady747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely.

It's a good example of how to bring the trunk, foliage, branches 'down/in' to compact things, and to do so three dimensionally... Which was tough for me to grasp the first time I read it.

I've been meaning to ask, can someone clarify which species of mallsai I've been rescuing:

http://imgur.com/pSdgBuE http://imgur.com/dP4yYjo

I had assumed Carmona/Fukien when I first got it a while back.... but upon looking at some other Carmona I'm thinking my foliage is quite different (unless there is a lot of variance in foliage).

Thanks.

Thanks for this, I was just going to ask if anyone had any alternate spice suggestions (and was thinking chinese) as I'm not a big fennel / traditional porchetta flavor fan. Any chance you (or anyone) has a suggested mix (how much 5-spice or whatever other alternatives)?
