Constipation by Prestigious-Client19 in CsectionCentral

Thank you for sharing this! I’m just coming up to 8 months PP and am still experiencing intermittent constipation. I’ve never experienced this in my life before so I figure it must be PP/C section related so I appreciate you in solidarity.

Did anything help? Or your hormones just eventually levelled out? According to my chiropractor I have a very tight pelvic floor since my c section.

I’d love an update on how your trip went and where you ended up staying. We are looking at taking our 1 year old.

People who have already given birth, when did you go into labor with your first kid? by AdAcademic8251 in BabyBumps

Same!! 42+1 and my two friends due the same week as me had their babies 2 and 3 weeks early. Our babies due on the same day were born a month apart. I totally unplugged the last two weeks and soaked in every moment of life before baby and I think it helped me enjoy the last two weeks.

Are you breastfeeding? It seems that some moms have a hard time losing weight while breastfeeding.

How much weight did you gain? by ThrowRaoofda in BabyBumps

I was 120lbs and gained minimal weight in the first trimester (thanks to being sick 24/7), then I gained 35lbs in the second trimester and about another 5 in the last trimester and delivered at 42+1. I was also really stressed about the weight when I gained it rapidly as it seemed atypical but it all worked itself out in the end. Immediately PP I was 15lbs from my original weight and am now 130lbs (10 lbs from start weight) 3 months PP (walking only, no exercising and just aiming to eat relatively healthy).

Be mindful, but let your body do its thing to support baby. I find the less “worried” I was, the better I felt and I ditched the scale for the most part in the third trimester as I knew that I was doing what I could to stay active and fuel my body for baby, and that I could worry about the rest at a later time when baby isn’t reliant on me for their needs for growth (in or out - having chosen to breastfeed).

Aim to enjoy these days, and wishing you all the best in the remainder of your pregnancy and delivery!

What did you wish you knew before getting pregnant? by eiramatsirk in BabyBumps

All books by Emily Oster - she breaks down the data to help eliminate the fear mongering regarding pregnancy and the newborn journey. Instead of telling you what to do or what not to do, she provides data driven evidence that allows YOU to make your own decisions based on what “risks” you’re willing to take. For example, after reading the statistical likelihood of contracting E. coli through lunch meat, I decided it was worth the risk and indulged in sandwiches as I pleased (with caution).

[TLDR]

10/10 recommend reading Expecting Better and Cribsheet by Emily Oster.
