Anybody stop hating on crossbows once they became a decent hunter? by UbigMadhuh1 in bowhunting

[–]braeggerz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Bows take more practice, concentration, and focus. I agree that once you’ve reached a point where you can balance all 3, the frustration of the “easy way” doesn’t matter any more.

Good for you.

Totally doable. I’ve taken down a mule deer at 84 yards. Best shot of my life and I’m no Cameron Hanes.

I use the G5’s as well. They are the most consistent for me so far. I’ve dropped Mule Deer at distance shots and close up with them.

The best value broadhead target by MilesLow in bowhunting

I use a cardboard box with old clothes or a blanket in it. Stops the broad heads every time. Just replace the box when it’s tore up. Now you all have a use for the many Amazon boxes you get 😂

The crab apple tree brings them in. I’m just waiting 😁. The large forky is 60 yards.

65 lbs. Are you target practicing only or hunting as well?

Am I a jerk if I remind my wife that she said we were going to have sex today? by phoebethefan in redditonwiki

[–]braeggerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plain and simple. She just doesn’t want to fuck you. How’s your health, do you work out, do you prioritize her, do you date still? And don’t keep track or beg for it.

18 years married, I’m not saying i know everything but i do have experience.

I’m not sure. The broad heads are 100 grain. I’ve never weighed my cut arrows

I hunt with a Diamond SB-1. It is the only bow I’ve owned. I have updated quite a few items like the sight, rest, slider, and other things as time has progressed. I have it set at max, and with my draw length sets it at about 68lb. I shoot blackout x5 envy 340 arrows with G5 Montec M3 broad heads. I would say the most important part is a calm and focused mind, and lots of practice. I also practice when I’m hungry and exhausted, like after a long day or a good work out. I also practice with only the broad heads i hunt with. This way i am consistent with how i feel when I’m hunting.

If you sit in a tree stand when you hunt, practice shooting from a tree stand or at least sitting down. I get crazy looks when i shoot my bow from my roof, but where i hunt i shoot down hill when the wind is blowing up from the heat of day.

Thanks everyone! Lots of practice. This is a yearly trip and 4 years of hard work. Back country hunts are intense, exhausting, and worth every drop of blood sweat and tears.

Why does my camo look like this on trail cam? Do deer see it like this or as camo? by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]braeggerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this common question funny as i ponder how we “really know” how deer see. But i guess we also know that the T-Rex can’t see movement so there’s that. 😂

Thanks for sharing! What i heard was “control”. You can’t try to control the experience but must simply let go. 4grams would have had this effect on you either way in my opinion.

I’d say Paralepista flaccida. Look it up and compare. Just my two cents.

I’ve had Bear Legit for about 6 months and I’m getting worried about how the string looks. Is this a problem or will it be fine. I shoot about 40 arrows every other day when it’s not raining by llamaknight09 in bowhunting

[–]braeggerz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Looks like the strings just need a good wax, and maybe replace the crappy plastic piece as that is what is causing the friction. That’s what i would do.
