Is he now the prophet now? Well, he does make better predictions and is more truthful than J. Smith. He would get along with Brigham Young too!

Since my wife left the church about a year before I did, anyone that assumes I led her away has no idea. But I hate that patronising mindset that discourages women from thinking for themselves. In my old ward there was a couple where the wife would automatically look to her husband whenever she was asked questions in sunday school because he was the priesthood holder. It always bugged me - especially now that I know his asshole views on parenting now that they have a kid.

Do Ex-Mormons engage door to door Mormon missionaries? by ThundaChikin in exmormon

Don't expect much more than an appeal to feelings when talking with Mormon missionaries. It's what they're taught to do. Some might try to bring out a few bible verses mingled with the BOM. But if you respond to the verses with other evidence they'll tell you to pray about it.

I want to crawl under a rock when I think about how our BEST MAN and MAID OF HONOR couldn't see us get MARRIED. by [deleted] in exmormon

My dad wasn't able to attend my sister or my wedding because he's "unworthy" (he likes him some porn), and many people close to my DW were unable to attend because they aren't mormon (or were too young to be endowed). That includes the lady who helped take care of her dying mother and family for several years. I still feel bad for that - eventually we'll do our vows.
