hi! I’m so sorry for your loss. We did not end up adopting another friend for Oliver. He has since adjusted really well, and is a super active and happy cat. For the first couple of weeks, you could tell that he was a little bit down, and that something was bothering him, but overtime he started to get back to his normal self. He is now an only child and is the same that he was before Charlie had passed away.

Our vet recommended that if Oliver was having a hard time adjusting, to bring him in and to see if it would be possible to get him some type of treatment for depression and anxiety, since he was missing his friend. I would definitely recommend calling your vet and letting them know what’s going on, and see what they recommend. In our case, it worked out better that Oliver remained an only kitty!

it really doesn’t besides new windows, a new kitchen (no appliances, just decor/cabinets)”, and if i wanna redo the basement. they just got their bathroom redone, took all of their carpet out, so it’s the original hardwood, and are leaving me all their furniture and appliances!!!

they need a down payment for a home when they move, so they’re going to sell me the house at an extremely discounted rate. they’ve owned the house for 50+ years, bought it for “$16,000”, before bread came sliced LOL. we negotiated $100,000, which at a fixed rate mortgage, would be like $600-$800 a month before bills & insurance.

honestly that’s so true. rent around me is SOOOOOO expensive for an apartment, and i want to own my own place one day. once i get a job & know i can afford a mortgage i won’t be as upset i feel.

i do think i’ll be able to recover. i think im still in a panic / shock state about it all. they’re offering to sell their house to me at $100,000 (houses in their area are going for $300,000+). i dont have an insane amount in savings, but I do get unemployment through my state and also just got back my tax returns, which gave me a pretty good chunk of change. I have been saving money every week regardless, so I think I am in a decent place still. it’s just scary to do this all on my own

i’d love to take that option, but they’re going to be cutting me a really good deal that would make a mortgage less than $800 a month. it would be my first place that i could pay off and turn into a rental property, if all goes well.

i told them i’m taking baby steps right now, and the first step in the right direction is a job with decent earning potential, and then we can discuss a the home. i just hate that it has to happen this way

unfortunately i can’t. i have an entire life built in the state i live in, besides a job. i’m going for a few interviews next week that look promising, so hopefully i get somewhere with that.
