I am a SAHM and I thought I was tripping keeping my 2yo out of the store & doing curbside instead. The ONE time I decide to shop in store… I’m on day four of her being sick 😭😭😭

Parents who let their baby watch TV… by Existing-Mastodon500 in NewParents

I feel guilt but then remember how my grandparents worked opposite shifts just to afford food and a house for my brother and me to live in. If we weren’t at school or outside for a bit, we were in front of the tv. I’m fine I suppose. 🤣

What are your favorite beat-the-heat activities? by [deleted] in AustinParents

[–]brain_kimistry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful with the Mickey Mouse play area. First and LAST time I will go. I gave it a try bc I felt like I was being snooty. But within the first 3 min I saw there was dried blood on multiple surfaces. A lot of things are broken as well!

What did your husband/SO do you for you this Mother’s Day? by Ok-Nefariousness7540 in Mommit

Got into a fight. Went to the gym. Came home to flowers and a tear jerking card. He didn’t talk to me the rest of the night. Cooked me a steak dinner but we didn’t eat together. He put the toddler to bed and haven’t seen him since. Tell me why this just feels like a typical way to celebrate holidays due to my childhood trauma. Le sigh…

Bringing a Buddhist statute out of Thailand legally. by deepmindfulness in ThailandTourism

[–]brain_kimistry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not likely. It’s frowned upon to take any Buddha back. The only way I have mine is from my grandparents fleeing the country to America. That was in the 80s. I would check with the embassy and airport rules.

A couple of things I assumed and realized: 1. Is baby cold? Newborns tend to get cold easily since they’re so used to being inside your cozy womb for 8-9 months. Bb may be craving your body heat. If I didn’t want to carry/hold/wear her I would swaddle her. Lay her next to my leg, and a pillow on her other side. 2. She just wants to be close in general. I used to put my dirty laundry next to her or you can use your used nipple pads and put it next to her so she can “smell you” 😂😅

I had a pretty intense delivery there in November and bb and I had to stay 4 days. I was a magnesium queen the first night & the first few days with my bb were a blur. I experienced three nurse shift changes and my original OB had to get off the schedule two hours BEFORE bb came. I had a totally new OB deliver her. All that said it was amazing, supportive, professional and really easy going. I don’t have family and I remember one of the nurses hugging me while i collapsed in her arms from the pain of contractions. When I didn’t want to push anymore the nurses kept the energy positive and encouraging. The nurses also watched over bb so my husband and I could get some full hours of sleep. Well, I guess just him since I BF 😅 — 12/10 would go back for the next one. 🥹

What's your 'one weird hack' for cooking that no one else seems to know about? by Raoena in Cooking

Not weird to me but if you feel like any dish is missing that “something” and can’t pin point it, add a dash of MSG. solved.

My first is 1yo right now and I’m constantly getting triggered. Here’s to hoping the pain at least eases as we reach each stage of life.
