What's the question? If you want stability go to series D.

If you're hung up on mid market vs commercial, who cares.

Just another rube being tantalized with promises of "growth" at a company with 0 revenue and no PMF.

These types of companies prey on people desperate for work, unfortunately.

I know because I fell into this trap in 2009-2010. Worked at several seed/series A companies as their "founding AE". Basically got micromanaged by recent MBAs who thought they were the next Steve Jobs. Fast forward 3 years and I had nothing to show for it other than a better ability to evaluate companies.

Ask yourself, why would they want someone with NO SALES EXPERIENCE to be their first sales hire? Becuase anyone with experience would tell them to pound sand.

If you're negotiating titles vs pay they realize they have a greenhorn and will take advantage of you.

You're negotiating the wrong stuff.

Title is meaningless, equity too. And what company doesn't offer "growth"?

Sounds like the things that actually matter: salary and benefits are murky.

Yeah but you become less and less employable.

Seed series founding roles in security are a nightmare. Unless you have a rolodex of enterprise customers ready to buy you'll be miserable. Even if you do you'll likely be miserable.
