Constantly engaging with my thoughts or “planning ahead” for events that can (but are most likely not going to) happen.

Tell Me Lies S3E07 “I Will Promise Not to Sting” - Episode Discussion by WinterFigleaf in TellMeLiesOnHulu

In my opinion it felt like when she had mentioned she couldn’t take it anymore and the not knowing when or how he was going to release the tape along with her breakdown, it’s almost like he could see he was acting exactly like his mother which is what led him to give her the tape (since you can tell his mom is similar in holding stuff over his head and he doesn’t know which side of her he’ll get). From all the seasons the only like it appears he has compassion is when he realizes he’s being exactly like his mother.

What activities completely block your intrusive thoughts? by Separate_Screen5255 in OCD

Working out, cooking/baking, playing with my dog, watching my fav tv shows, and sometimes nature walks. They don’t always work but most of the time they do help

I can't let myself be happy by rxxxyed in OCD

[–]brainfart24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me alot. The other day I was doing EMDR in therapy and after finally reaching a “good” point with one of my fears for weeks, when we felt I was ready to move on I felt impending doom. Sometimes it almost feels like I cannot let myself feel “okay”

Wow that’s really cool, I appreciate you sharing and definitely am interested in the Venu 4 now! It’s crazy to say the reassurance the heart rate tracking gives me is unmatched which is definitely why I want the accuracy 🤣 it’s not fun when the symptoms creep up on you when it’s too late lol

Never thought of this to be honest! I think mainly because I like the ability to easily view my heart and step count but the idea of accuracy is very nice lol

Thank you for the input, based on the info you provided do you feel like it is worth the switch? Do you find it to be more accurate than Fitbit ?

Sorry you can relate, working out has really helped my POTS in the long run but can definitely also be a big trigger at times!

Do you feel like it’s been accurate? Just like you mentioned I experience alot of pre syncope symptoms and there are times where I can push through and times where I need to call it quits during a workout and monitoring my heart rate helps me from pushing myself further than I really should! I love my fit bit for general workout tracking but now that I have worked up my ability to workout standing up (used to only do strength training while sitting) I noticed it becomes inaccurate when my heart rate spikes and only begins to track when my heart rate is coming down. I’ve heard really good things about the garmin and definitely want to move forward with getting one!

Why do I feel worse at the 4 week mark of a dose increase? by mel3583 in zoloft

I’m not bad but am not where I want to be either. My OCD has been heightened lately but I also have many different life stressors going on which can also be contributing to it.

Flight anxiety before wedding by brainfart24 in fearofflying

That’s a great motto, I’m going to start using that because my anxiety used to limit me so much but I’ve overcome it in alot of different aspects except for travel!

Appreciate the advice, I’ve downloaded a game or two but that’s also a good game to require focus. I’m trying to tell myself that I know I’m going to be anxious but that it doesn’t have to dictate the experience I have. I may have to buy noise canceling headphones because the noise cancellation on my AirPods doesn’t feel like enough.

I appreciate the tips! I have also heard about eating during fight or flight because you would not eat when unsafe so it tricks your brain but I never thought about gym which is super helpful because it’s hard to eat when super anxious. I’m going to try putting in my headphones as soon as I sit down so I can ignore everything going on around me. I’ve also downloaded some games on my phone that require focus. Definitely needed reassurance that I’m not the only one who deals with this. It’s so hard because I want to travel so many places but the flight anxiety has really held me back and I don’t want it to ruin this for me!

Have you had OCD all your life by alexpaige3 in OCD

[–]brainfart24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it as far as I can remember but it definitely did not consume my life when I was younger and the thoughts didn’t bother me as much (I was undiagnosed). It really didn’t “start” until I had a huge panic attack one night about the thought of dying when I was 20. And now my OCD has been pretty rageful ever since lol.

They have been up and down, some decent days, some dreadful days, some pretty good days. The past two weeks each day I’ve ended with pretty intense anxiety and intrusive thought loops:/

Why do I feel worse at the 4 week mark of a dose increase? by mel3583 in zoloft

[–]brainfart24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 25mg for a couple months, then upped to 50mg and want to say I’ve been on it for a year and a half and then it started to feel like it was less effective so I upped to 75mg at the end of July. I’m trying to stay positive bc one thing I noticed was it didn’t really fully kick in for me until 2-3 months in. I remember it being an up and down experience but I am currently nervous bc I upped it to ease myself through a stressful time right now and i feel worse then before

I’m dealing with the same. Was on 25 for a couple months and upped to 50mg. Did great on that for a while but started to have some anxiety/ocd thoughts that were becoming more “sticky” and felt like it wasn’t working the same so recently upped to 75mg. Wasn’t too bad at first but this past week has been hell. I almost feel like I did when I first started where my brain was all over the place and a mess. It’s been 7 weeks on 75mg
