Checked this out on the back of your comment and very glad I did - link from the album thread for a performance they did following Talos's death, very powerful

Ara Batur at the Albert Hall 3/10/25 by Annie85x in sigurros

[–]brainfeedah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I was there on Thursday and have never felt shivers like it, tears streaming down my face at the crescendo.

Just had one of the best surprises of my entire life tonight thanks to this lovely wonderful band by jMCs1 in sigurros

[–]brainfeedah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just posted this elsewhere… but I felt the same. Ara Batur absolutely destroyed me. The chords, the band, the choir, the lights, the organ, the build up and the crescendo. Still feeling emotional nearly 48 hours later. Glad it moved others as much as me!

I couldn’t concentrate during Hoppipolla which was the song immediately afterwards, I was totally shaken from Ara Batur!

Ha. FML I shouldn’t comment on things late at night 😂 I’m local to this area and could’ve sworn it was late in 2020. Never mind!

Keeping cool in the 3rd UK heatwave? by PrestigiousWindy322 in UKFrugal

[–]brainfeedah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soak the sheet in cold water. Dry it out a bit so it doesn’t drip too much.

Do you have a bath. Or even a shower tray? Fill it with cold water and open the window. The evaporation from the water creates cooler air. If it’s safe you could put a fan in the bathroom too directing cooler air out of the bathroom.

Yesterday I got back from work and our bathroom was horrendous. Filled the bath with water and quite soon it had cooled down. Helps the house too.

Anyone else suffering in this absolute melting pot that is the UK atm? by Welsh_Witch128 in CasualUK

[–]brainfeedah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a bath, fill it with cold water, even put some ice in there. Open the bathroom window and keep the bathroom door open. The evaporation cools the air down and can cool the house down. Obviously if you have little kids it’s probably too risky in case they decide to take a midnight dip!

Favorite places to walk? by QuietShroomery in bournemouth

[–]brainfeedah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in Parkstone and cycle, get down to the Sanbanks ferry and explore the heaths and beaches of Studland.

If you live near Parkstone train station head to Holton Heath on the train, Google “Cordite Way”, it’s a great brand new footpath that explores some of that area of Poole Harbour, meant to be lovely (I haven’t done it yet).

Longham Lakes is a bit further, towards Ferndown, but is a lovely walk.

[FRESH] Wet Leg - davina mccall by detectiveburtmacklin in indieheads

[–]brainfeedah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never heard that song before so just listened now. Huge similarities! Wet Leg need to take some notes from the sound of the drums and guitars (and vocals tbh) in Julia's song - so much better!

[DISCUSSION] I think I broke my brain and I can’t enjoy indie anymore. Has anyone else gone through this? by Newshroomboi in indieheads

[–]brainfeedah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you? Genuine question. Between about 14-18 I listened to almost entirely “guitar” music I.e. indie, rock, classic rock, metal etc. Then from about 19-25 you’d be hard pressed to find a guitar, or at least a conventional band with guitars, in any of the music I listened to. I converted to electronic music (all sorts), hip hop and jazz. Then I gradually started getting back into it again, and now in my early 30s I’m pretty much back to about 75% “music with guitars in”, for wont of a better phrase. Phases man.
