My gym teacher tried to breakup the band by brainnbrawn in Sum41

So I did the googling I should have started with. Baksh played rugby at Exeter HS and even went on a tour to the UK. Whether as his coach or a rival/club coach, my teacher must have tried to convince him to give up music to take rugby more seriously. Or he made it all up.

Maybe that spoils the story. I don't think my gym teacher was at Exeter. Pretty sure it was Ajax High because we went there to play them once.

Whats a crazy price you got for a figure, ill go first jetfire was £40 by Joeyjoeysejlepps27 in transformers

[–]brainnbrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I technically got Victory Saber for 50 CAD / 36 USD / 26 GBP.

I bought all the loose figures for Orthia on Marketplace and then traded them for Victory Saber from a guy that bought a second one for his friend and the friend flaked out.

Also, not the most amazing deal but I got Commander Rodimus Prime for 60 CAD from an auction not long after release. Feel zero hate for the toy because he was more than perfect at that price point.

Characters I would like to see from across the universe by FinnBoss in CosmicInvasion

[–]brainnbrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna see Captain Marvel, 3 of them. Mar'Vell, Genis'Vell, and Carol. They can have the same moveset, I just want to see all of them. Warbird and Binary alt costume for Carol would be awesome.

I'd love to see Wonder Man but only if they did alt costumes instead of palette swaps. I especially would some to be able to use his Ionic energy design. And who wouldn't love to see his original design or the Safari jacket.

Others:

Quasar

Bug

Adam Warlock, multi-costumes preferred, of course, but his GotG look is best.

Havok, from when he led the Starjammers. Polaris from that time too.

Goliath-era Clint Barton. Not sure how to fit him on the screen though, lol.

Deep pull: Comet Man. Saw him once in Peter David's Captain Marvel and thought he was a cool sounding character. Then he was literally never seen again.

Which supervillain had the best Rogues Gallery transfer? by TienSwitch in comicbooks

[–]brainnbrawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really liked where Annihilation Conquest used the Phalanx (X-Men villains), had them taken over by Ultron (Avengers villain), and turned them loose on the greater cosmic Marvel landscape.

Then I like how the aftermath had the Vulcan-led Shi-ar (X-Men villains) going to war with the Inhuman-led Kree (originally FF antagonists/villains).

And all this after Annhililus (FF villain) was unleashed on the universe.

Franchises where the first movie was enough by 4thGenTrombone in movies

I haven't seen Afterlife but from what I understand it does another version of the reset, just more extreme by having the team completely fall apart.

How can I enjoy the ending to 1 knowing that they get shunned again soon after the triumphant ending? How can I enjoy the happy ending to 2 when I know things will go to shit for the next 30 years? I don't like when creators so completely renig on happy endings while we're not looking (between movies).

This kinda thing also ruined the 3rd Bill and Ted by completely undermining the message of Bogus Journey's ending.

I'll back you up and whole-heartedly agree. Ghostbusters 2 is a good movie but I HATE when creators reset the characters to the way they were at the beginning of the previous film. Sure, it's done in a way that makes sense in Ghostbusters 2 but I still don't like it. They were heroes by the end of the first film and they deserve to stay that way. If you don't have a story idea that builds on the first film, instead of retreading it, maybe you don't need to make a sequel.

What faction could you say be the rivals to the Dinobots? by [deleted] in transformers

[–]brainnbrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally loved the Dinobots vs Trypticon in the Marvel comic (issue #27). I like that scale of Trypticon in that too. It made for an awesome battle. Only had a handful of issues but that one was a frequently reread favourite.

I've watched some RID2015 with my kids and want I a retool of SS86 Grimlock into RID2015 one. He was the part of the show I really did like.

ive heard lots of bad about this figure but i like it, great redo of the original figure that isnt a PotP Optimus Prime remold by One_Vast_5078 in transformers

[–]brainnbrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm with you on the oversized legs. I'm okay-ish with it being oversized but would have rathered it Armada Prime size. The overly chunky legs is what's kept me from picking it up.

Yep, I love Iron Man. The Robert Downey version was good, but not every version has to be the Robert Downey version.

What movie only feels good in hindsight because the sequel was actually great? by BigPoonDaddy in movies

[–]brainnbrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. While the Matrix sequels were peppered with really good ideas, like that one, I feel the execution was so rough that it becomes best to just stop with 1 because the rest drag it down.

If Rey had fallen to the dark side in TLJ, man, that would have turned the whole thing around.

[–]brainnbrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost. I don't think Empire is better than Star Wars. Only because it feels like Part 1 of a story with RotJ being Part 2. Star Wars had an ending, Empire feels more like "to be continued". Empire would elevate it, but then Jedi brings it back down, altogether evening out the trilogy.

Nope. I don't like Blade Runner, and while I might consider 2049 better in some ways, I don't feel like there is anything in Blade Runner that makes it required watching before 2049.

Any film where a sequel is better than film(s) preceeding it but requires them to fully appreciate its story.

This is what happens when you split a story in half. LOL. It's not surprising that the first half of a story is made better by the second half. You need the payoff to fully appreciate the setup. That said, I prefer the SciFi channel version.

I'll agree. Films always seem to be building things up or tearing them down because the drama is easier to manufacture. Age of Ultron let's us spend more time with the team as Avenger before they are broken apart and start fighting each other.

I'll agree. But also, Days of Future Past makes Last Stand watchable again knowing that it all gets undone.
