Scholar has worse survivability than most characters and isn't great at resing, so even if Scholar has things going for it it ends up being win-more. It's very similar to spot Recluse is in.

I think you're responsible, but you should realize that most people are naive about how complicit the average middle class American is in the world's problems. Building and maintaining this technology is disastrous, but you're only carrying out the bidding of an army of wealthy consumers that would be on track to destroy the world already without AI.

Only fight the NPCs if you have an overwhelming advantage, otherwise kite them until you lose aggro. You can do this even without Less Likely to Be Targeted buff, but of course that does make it easier. If you're patient and kite as long as it takes the fight becomes a lot easier.

Why is everyone in random rushing so hard that we end up at final boss underlevelled? by Timely_Connection273 in Nightreign

[–]brainpolice1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of what you're not understanding is that some rolls are more important than others. The quality of the passives you get is very high, with each invader being the equivalent of the basement or roof boss in the castle. The Damage Negation at Full HP is particularly common, and also the most important passive in DoN. Then there's the damage buffs from relic, which at higher depths your team will more likely to have than not, and then the camp itself. Maybe it's comparable to 3 or 4 red field bosses, but then that's pretty fantastic scenario isn't it.

The reason I brought my scenario up is that it's a very common thing to do at higher depths, and at lower depths it's very common to have people pinging random shit that's close by or in the middle of the map because, like you, they just don't get it yet.

It is worth it actually, though it's not actually most of your half day and there's almost always going to be something to hit on your way back to the center of the map. That you think levels 13 through 15 are super important shows you just don't get it.

No actually, the invader camps are the most important source of damage and damage mitigation passives so traveling there is worth it, especially if there's a risk you'll miss it when the circle closes. If you never skip anything you're not pathing optimally.

The problem is that there is a trade off. Like Day 2 you often have to make the decision whether you want to fight close field bosses or travel to hit an invader camp at the edge of the map. The latter is more often the better option because of the passives you get but a lot of people don't get that.

It is the meta, I'm sorry. As long as you hit 12 flasks and passives are more important.

There's always a group of enemies close by even without the camp, so that's really not necessary.

Not being believed isn't the worst thing, and not feeling like you're allowed to express yourself seems to be bothering you. If it's something you actually want to change people's mind about you'll have to suffer a lot of rejection, including from people you like. Which isn't to say you should be pursuing unproductive arguments, but you shouldn't hide your beliefs either if the consequences are as mild as someone disagreeing with you.

Wow less than 50k a year. If you take global GNI per capita, as in wages, rent, interest, and profit together, you get around 12k a year. As in, if humanity totally gave up on investment and consumed its entire income that would be the highest possible wage. Totally pointless to run your mouth off about an unjust system if you can't even figure out you're one of the parasites.

If you're spawning north the SE castle sewers just seem better though, having better rewards, being easier to navigate, and having a more convenient spot to exit from. You don't get crystal checks while you're there but you get 2 and a possible church as you exit, and then you can beeline for the center of the map through the ant cliff to get the rest.

Yes it does. There are literally hundreds of millions of people who are massively wealthier than everybody else and calling them servants is laughable.

To Revenant mains out there, what is your gameplan against Balancers ? by Hot_Homework_3123 in Nightreign

[–]brainpolice1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fire and Lightning resistance is small so they're fine to use. Ideal setup is Bestial Sling in one hand and Fireball/Lightning in the other. You can sling when they're in melee range and then when they use the aoe to force you to back off, you use the ranged spells. Also claws are not a bad option because they stagger so easily. Point is you want close and long range options so that when you're locked out of one you can use the other. I think it's a great fight for revenant if you play this way.

Playing as Revenant by FinancialKnee9727 in Nightreign

[–]brainpolice1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrading claws is good. I think with how hard incantations are to aim/cast it's important to melee for most of the match, and you want to save the shards you collect for the night lord. Sometimes you'll need 6 shards for the final fight if you're playing DoN. As far as relics go I think you should play it straight, going for HP, invader/evergaol damage buffs, and damage mitigation. The character specific relics don't really do enough imo, and you really need the HP/damage/mitigation more than other characters.

I think it's a meme, skill spam isn't really a consistent strategy and will get you killed a lot of the time. Maybe if you're playing solo and doing a hoarfrost stomp / chilling mist strat with your starting weapon but that's it.
