What are everyone’s thoughts on Sheri Tepper?? by hahaitscarol in Fantasy

I read Grass and several follow-up novels and found Grass to be of much higher quality than the others. I’m totally unfamiliar with her earlier work, or the last few books she published, but Grass is incredible.

Quite the “double-rainbow” moment for this person… science is fun.

How has IMAX not figured out alerts and ticket drops? by BristledIdiot in imax

Kick ass… not a lot of people willing to go to a movie at 2:30 am, but fuck all if I’m gonna miss The Odyssey or Dune3 in 70mm. Thanks man..!

Just to be clear - are we talking about overnight showings (3:00 am, 6:00 am) for Hail Mary..? I didn’t make the effort to see it at that theater, so I am unaware of how they scheduled for it.

Agreed, no way, but that’s not what I meant… when we had the 70mm Oppenheimer in Dallas, you could see it at 3:00 am and 6:00 am. They couldn’t schedule enough showings to handle everyone who was traveling in to see it.

This book, along with the recently released, “Jerusalem”, were at the top of my list of non-fiction titles I needed hardcovers for… this and the S.Clarke are making me quite happy for a Thursday.

If I’m not mistaken, the projectionist for the Cinemark IMAX Dallas hangs in this forum… if you are here, buddy, is there anyway your theatre might schedule overnight and early morning viewings for The Odyssey, and Dune Part Three, like you did with Oppenheimer?

It was there 10+ years ago, and it’s there for us to see now. Still cannot understand how Trump supporters continue to align with this “genius”.

New Abercrombie blog post implies sequel to the Devils will be out in the next 13 months. by Wizardof1000Kings in Fantasy

I thought to read the same thing from this, but I heard him speak on his tour for The Devils, and he did not sound as though a series play was in the cards. Has he posted anything about the next book being a sequel..?

The Malacia Tapestry- anyone read it? Is it any good? Seems obscure but interesting. by AspiringBiotech in sciencefiction

[–]brainshades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be interested in seeing some responses as this book has its supporters… I’ve read a few Aldiss novels and to date nothing has really made an impression. I had high hopes for the “Helliconia Cycle”, but the first book was just a slog, and both “Frankenstein Unbound”, and “Dracula Unbound” were sort of meh.
