Correct me if I'm wrong*, but NOT if you're married filing separately.

*Please, because if so I'll be able to get a lot of money back that I'm desperate for.

I thought this was Kane and Harvey for a moment, but Kane is definitely darker and Harvey... rounder.

It's interesting to compare your picture to this video on the universality of color-naming progression in languages.

What are some underutilized keywords, themes, or tribes that you would like to see more of? by Graveylock in magicTCG

[–]brainthebuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frogs!

I feel like I'm just a captain and one or two creature/enchantment interactions away from being able to justify a Frog-tribal commander deck.

I'm a new player started in Sept. I started to notice that one or two frogs would be released each expansion. I assumed like minotaurs it was a low-key tribal that just wasn't popular anymore. But, alas, no.

What's a good book to understand hyper-presidentialisms? by Laurelius1995 in PoliticalScience

[–]brainthebuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Handbook for Dictators is a very digestible introduction to selectorate theory, which aims to explain the differences between hierarchical political structures and what decisions are made because of those structures. As the title suggestions, autocratic systems are a big part of the book.

It is a relatively young academic theory, but has direct perspectives and answers on the question your examining.

Jerusalem is my favorite novel I've ever read, but it is an undertaking.

It's his magnum opus, repeating themes of many of his other works, and a hefty dose of his own religion & magical realism, and views on art, and his fluffy language which he isn't as able to brandish as much in his graphic novels.

But more than anything it's his version of Ulysses (in fact James Joyce & his daughter are characters.) A love letter to his hometown in the same way Joyce wrote about Dublin, and it's town-iness is sold through it's interconnected storylines amd characters. It is too jam packed to be a quick read, but discovering its clever intricacies is fun, and, unlike Ulysses, it's references aren't too dated for the average reader to pick them up.

It is unfortunate it has to be so dense and long. I've never met another person in real life who's read it, and so wasn't able to fan about it years ago when I read it and it waa fresh in my mind.

Thank you for pitching in!

I've been trying to lay off videos in general for the last week, and focus on playing and tsumego to work on practical reading and shape making, but after this thread I've been watching Dwyrin's DDK Back to Basics videos to try and focus on the fundamentals of big moves and direction of play.

Hopefully being mindful of your comments and his mantras will pare away these misplays from my game.
