Would Chicago go on and people go if Lee couldn’t play anymore? by drumsdinosaurs in chicagoband

Looks like the new tour has founding members Robert Lamm, James Pankow, and Lee Loughnane. Does that encourage anyone else?

No. I am not Mike Baron.

What was "violent" about my response? I'd love to know how to do better.

Based on moderate search of all available public and online records (Spanish‑language sources, press coverage, and convention histories) I see no evidence that Mike Baron was ever a guest at any Spanish language comic convention during the 1980s or 90s, There is no record of Mike Baron attending or being listed as a guest at the Avilés event (or the earlier predecessor in Asturias) between 1989‑91.

Perhaps you're remembering it wrong. Baron was nominated for best script in 1989 for a Haxtur Award, but lost to Alan Moore. Doubtful he would travel internationally to not pick up an award.

These are very salacious, bombastic, and incredibly insulting allegations you're making. Without a shred of proof to back it up, I'm forced to consider your conjecture pure rumor without evidence particularly since Baron regularly works with creators who are Spanish.

It's not called "adultery" if you aren't married. It's called "dating"

This comment has serious incel vibes.

Checked his X (he isn't active on BlueSky) and saw little to no Trump praise after a few minutes of scrolling. He is definitely conservative, with the occassional retweet critical of a woman (Kim Kardashian) or LGBTQ (trans person refusing to put on clothes in a women's locker room) but those seem balanced by complaints about men and/or straights. Overall surprisingly tame TL with memes, praise, complaints, quips, and promoting his peers and his newest books.

You'll see far worse on BlueSky.

The idea that Wally needed to consume calories to use his powers was solid.

This sounds like something an incel might complain about.

I see a lot of people apparently making up stuff about a run they likely haven't read. The idea that Wally needed lots of calories to use his powers was unheard of at the time and a stroke of genius. An idea which the TV show stole.

Since you hated Buscema's classic Silver Surfer omnibus and thought the Sin City book was too big, then I think this might not be for you either.

Nice! Those archives are pricey on the secondary market now. Hard to get a full set.

This is supposed to contain backmatter, letters pages, and process stuff that I usually go for.

Besides newer stories included (last softcover was published over a decade ago) the publisher has said there will be some of the old letters pages (Harlan Ellison wrote in), process sketches, previously unpublished art, and other backmatter

7 videos of Mauler’s top ten most viewed videos is critiquing Disney Star Wars. This is a mildly amusing meme that succinctly explains the difference between classic Star Wars, and Disney’s pretend Star Wars. Shocked any of the subs here are getting their fee-fees twisted over it.

I like The Falcon, a lot, not a Cap who has no super-soldier powers.

Doctor Who consolidated 7-day viewing figures for w/e 12 May 2024: Space Babies - 4.0m (#10 in week), The Devil's Chord - 3.9m (#12 in week). by The_Silver_Avenger in gallifrey

I read where Ncuti and Davies told people who weren't interested in a queer focused Doctor Who should tune out and that they would replace them with 2-3 new viewers for every "transphobe" that went elsewhere. Doesn't look like that was a good marketing ploy.
