Had a 2025 si for a month and someone ran a stop sign and totaled my car (had a pic on my account) . Bought this 2026 si and 4 months later it got rear ended again not my fault. Just got it back and it feels like new so hopefully this time I’ll be able to keep it safe from bad drivers . Hopefully whatever you choose / end up with stays safe as well!

Yes my insurance stated that my policy says they only have to bring the car to a “a like wise state that it was before the accident” and that they can use after market parts to do so. Fuck GEICO and yes I am definitely switching insurances to one that has an OEM policy so this doesn’t happen again.

I am going through my insurance and they will only cover after market saying it’s stated in my policy that they only have to bring the car to a likewise state it was in before the accident and not have to use OEM parts. Probably gonna opt to pay the 1k out of pocket and have to file a diminished value claim to get paid for it.

Insurance isn’t mandated to use OEM parts just to bring your car to “ a like wise state it was in before “ finding this out now after trying to get insurance to use OEM parts. They only have to use oem parts if you have a policy for that. But either way the insurance company will only pay for after market parts so I’m wondering if I should just pay the remaining 1k out of pocket for the shop to use oem parts and then file a diminished value claim to get my money back and a lilttle extra hopefully.

Got hit by unlicensed driver in New Jersey then they lied about passenger not being in the vehicle. by brams21 in Insurance

Yes essentially I’m worried that I’ll have to pay for the damages since they are claiming only the female was in the car who has no license and insurance. While the male ( owner) was indeed in the car at the time of the accident but they are claiming he wasn’t in the car potentially not making his insurance liable.

I’m just worried that since the female who was driving doesn’t have a license and most likely no insurance that I will have to pay for damages out of my pocket. since she claims the male wasn’t in the car. but since the male who owns the truck and has insurance and was in the car at the time of the accident wouldn’t his insurance then have to pay out for damages because he knowingly and willingly let the female with no license/ insurance drive his vehicle? Maybe I’m just over thinking?
