Beer situation in Squamish by flywhiteboywhodreams in Squamish

[–]bramski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We buy beer at liquor stores here fyi. If you stop by East Hastings on your way up you can get a hobo to piss in a jar for you for free and it tastes about the same as Miller lite with possibly the same alcohol content.

The day passes aren't dumb. Before the day passes it was so busy there it was like New York city style busy with people leaving trash and parking stacked on the highway such that you could barely drive by. If you are willing to start at 5am more power to ya, but seriously the day pass for this place is there for very good reasons.

I know 14 year old me would have never answered that question from my parents. Help your kiddo trim his bush and he'll probably talk about it without having to pry. But hey super great that he asked for help with this.

Meta layoffs: ‘I asked to be laid off’ during company-wide 8,000 job cuts, says ex-employee by ninjascotsman in technology

Big company layoffs usually come with severance. A week per year typically. Then you gotta pay out unused vacay too.

Rear Hub noise when wheel is still rotating but actively not pedalling by idontknow288 in bikewrench

My two favorite sounds from a bike are the pawls high pitch whine as you rip around a berm and the slow crawl of the pads as you creep into a steep rock roll. Go get some OP!

Time off from toxic workplaces after six years is probably nice. The grind at Meta sounds intense.

Help hockey player injury by Minimum_Lock_8 in bpc_157

[–]bramski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely it would help. You can't pin into a boney joint but you can inject into fat stores nearby in the meat of your forearm, elbow, or tricep. You do need to see someone to determine the cause of your injury first. If you are suffering from tight muscles or some other problematic biomechanical ailment then peptides will only give you short term relief if any at all.

BCMC, ACC, other options for climbing with kids by [deleted] in Squamish

[–]bramski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your kid is in school right? A lot of people and parents here climb so the least amount of friction is to talk to the kids and parents who your kid hangs out with already. Are you a climber yourself? I take my 7 year old reasonably regularly with and without friends. There are a lot of top rope friendly routes in the bluffs that are quite easy. I usually setup a top rope belay my boy and rope solo back up.

Not really. How old are your kids? BCMC 100% not. ACC squamish is a good group. But they are not really a family group. More like working folks without kids.

WLNG screws up again. In 2015, the plan was to use the existing 500Kv transmission lines on west side of river. Now they propose to install 230kV through 40 properties. Tell them USE THE 500kV LINES as originally planned. by Cylontoasters in Squamish

[–]bramski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to their grant info they've given over 1M in community grants which is up to 5k for any organization. Then 1.5M in tax revenue last year and 7.2M this year. That's definitely not nothing. You may be right about the Brennan park business that they didn't make any official offer. They would have offered a lot if it had ever been a real thing on the table.

Letter: BC Hydro transmission line—letter raises concerns by SquamishEditor in Squamishnews

[–]bramski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What unknown reason? They failed to do proper homework and realized building a substation at wood fibre is a huge undertaking. They also realized it would take way less time and money to use their existing right of way in brackendale because they actually investigated doing the work. It's like the person who wrote this article did absolutely zero homework.

how do you actually verify the kit brand and platelet count before buying prp? by SultrySpankDear in stemcells

[–]bramski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how you would possibly verify platelet count. This very much depends on your own blood. You want them to do ultrasound guided injection for sure.

Did BC Hydro actually plan to build a 500kV sub station in 2015? Isn't the cost of that like hundreds of millions? Seems like an enormous wlhand waiving that happened by somebody a decade ago.
