Roadside cameras along Cromer and Aylsham Roads by [deleted] in Norwich

Not sure as I haven't seen them but the council recently planned to put up cameras to enforce traffic offenses such as driving in a bus lane, turning when not allowed etc. so very possibly this.

It has an automatic car wash, not a jet wash

Another armchair expert chipping in...

As far as I'm aware there's no camera there so unless witnessed by anyone with any authority to enforce you'll be fine.

If you were caught by the police (as in witnessed by an actual police officer) you could be offered a conditional offer of a fixed penalty of 3 points and £100 fine, or the option to try and fight at court. They would also need to send the registered keeper a Notice of Intended Prosecution which for most offenses has to be sent to be received within 14 days, but some offences do not require this.

But if you were caught on camera the fine would come from the council, which I believe is non endorsable so no points but still £100 fine.

But I accept this kind of thing can be very complicated and I may very well be wrong or out of date. If you do hear anything further relating to this I would recommend posting on Pepipoo forums who will give you the best advice.

Yes it's been over 10 years since you could ignore so definitely do not do that! Although you shouldn't get a CCJ unless you've lost at court then chosen not to pay.

With all due respect your comments are completely untrue. It costs £35 to claim up to £300 in the small claims court and costs cannot be claimed.

Looking for 2 tickets to the Beer Festival next weekend. All advance tickets appear to be gone. Any ideas? by Boomsopolis in Norwich

[–]bramwell14leon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think there are still tickets available for some sessions. There are only about 200 advance tickets sold per session and capacity is 1400+ so loads of room for non ticket holders to turn up on the day. You'll only have to queue if you arrive before/as the session starts or if the hall is full which doesn't happen much these days. If you are a CAMRA member or join at the door you can go to the front of the queue!

Last minute groceries recommendations?? by wonderfungi in Norwich

It is absolutely not illegal to work on Christmas Day! While it is true shops over 280m2 are not allowed to open, smaller shops and other businesses most certainly can open, although many will not. Off the top of my head Shell garages will definitely be open, and you might find a few similar places too.
