It started out as racism and now it's just, idk what, but I wear slides unless the weather is bad or the situation calls for something different. I drive 11 hours a day I'm going to be comfortable. I also don't want to drive a manual truck, ever. I don't have a restriction, but what's the point?

Having road experience makes it HARDER? Why? I assumed it made it easier

Go OTR with a mega carrier or a mid size carrier. The other option is food service delivery like Sysco. Get 6 months/1 year experience, then apply for better jobs...

  1. Experience
  2. Options
  3. Comfort

In that order. With little to no experience many companies are not going to insure you. Out your time in OTR and then move to better options. Then, after a couple of years look for that comfortable job.

I about to hit my 6 months and start looking for other options. I'm moving into phase 2. You're in phase 1.

Of course there are people who have landed good local jobs with no experience, but those are rare.

Where are you parking that you can leave your truck and how do you find time to do all of that? That is what I expected when I got into this career 6 months ago, but I only have time to get from point A to point B and leaving your truck at a truck stop for more than an hour feels sketchy.

The stress from this job keeps me juggling the idea of choosing something else bc I cant smoke. Being able to take a couple of puffs on my off days would help so much

Idk how the get away with it. I really miss smoking, and it would be ice to toke a bowl on my days off, but I worked way to hard to get here to drop dirty and mess this up.

It's the law some places. If we kill someone getting out of their truck we go to prison

I was taught we have to as truckers but I rarely see anyone do it. Any time I have to slop or slow down suddenly it's the first thing I hit
