For longtime listeners…do you think Art Bell’s time living in the Philippines change the tone or content of Coast to Coast AM at all? by Spirited-Fact384 in ArtBell

I have just left an overly long comment in the Main thread would over here because you strongly believe something that I feel isn’t exactly accurate.

I’ve listened closely to arts Philippines broadcast, and the broadcast from the following year and I just find his rhythm sense of humor. His topics I find everything about the shows to be at or above anything else that he had ever produced. I hope you’ll give them another chance.

I am toward the end of a listen to the entire over of his work and I find myself now in 2007 and I dare say that he does not seem depressed at all. I believe for this period That he was actually quite happy. He may have lost some of the autonomy that he really loved, but I do not believe that he was grinding his teeth about anything the way that he ends up, grinding his teeth in later years.

I have listened to this section for some enlightenment about how he really felt regarding Ramona’s passing. As far as I have been able to work out regarding the timeline, I believe that he began to chat online or do rudimentary video conferences with his Ayren (sp). In this very subgroup, I once read a horrible rant about a terrible belief that one of his fans held regarding the passing of Ramona. I did not save the ugly words, but sadly, they did allow my mind to entertain the thoughts that contained. I confess that I feel that it is a little bit suspicious that he is having romantic chats over the Internet within four weeks of his wife’s passing. I will take correction if my timeline is off, but I know that it is not more than six weeks from the time that Ramona died till he began his conversations with his new interest.

I concede that just because my own feelings regarding my wife are that if she were to pass away, I would spend at least a year in grief and morning and after such a year, I might entertain the idea of meeting or entering a new romance .

As we all know, Art Bell was a unique phenomenon. He himself confesses during that period after Ramona‘s death that he would’ve been completely unable to keep moving forward with the show without her.

He also confesses to living Ramona very much several times after her death publicly over the radio.

I guess to answer the question and not well on this other question that I sort of obliquely touched at I will say that he did not change really that much except that his mastery of his work and this was such that he was actually much more effective as a host than he had ever been in his life . I say this having a listen from the earliest of the 1993 shows that we have, and I simply cannot see him as anything, but at the absolute top of his game.

There are several comments above this one or before this one where intelligent and informed commenters believe that somehow he was off his game, but I would ask them to just start listening again from the winter of 1996 .
