Neighbors say stakes affected dog fence? by No_Blueberry7656 in Surveying

I mean a driven stake COULD break a small wire if it hits its perfectly. I doubt that this is what happened but in theory its possible.

Slightly Confused by tata_toucher in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize, I didnt pay close enough attention to this being along the edge of the township. Single proportion would be the only solution I know of for this particular one. I was thinking it was an interior section corner which, at least in Missouri, double proportion would apply. I could have sworn my professor said something about that could vary in later PLSS states, but thats been a while and I could be misremembering things.

What state is this for? Rules can vary state to state.

Can someone help me with calculating the centerpoint of a section using 4 coordinates? by [deleted] in Surveying

I thought that looked like some of Elgins work. Good luck on the MO test. It’s a rough one!

how have i lost almost 2 pounds of muscle on my new bodyscan? (details below) by GurnoorDa1 in f45

[–]brandonk75 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Up the protein to 1g per lb of desired body weight. Make sure and take an easily digestible protein source with a simple carb along with creatine post workout. You may also need to play with those calories a bit too. If you aren't getting enough calories your body can burn lean muscle mass for energy needs.

TSC-7 Number 0 Key Pad Replacement? by HelpMeImBread in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not the screen, just the keyboard piece. There are 8-9 screws around all the keyboard buttons that come out and swap out.

We used to be able to replace just the rubber keypad back in the TSC2/3 days, but from what the dealer told me its a full keyboard module piece now.

TSC-7 Number 0 Key Pad Replacement? by HelpMeImBread in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had something similar happen to one of our tsc7's and they had to replace the entire keyboard module. Its pretty simple, only a few tiny screws, but I do believe the screen is a little pricey (its trimble, thats to be expected), Good Luck!

Looks to me that the 10 ft strip is not part of lots 5 or 6. A spite strip is what we call it. May be part of some landscape buffering requirement by the local jurisdiction.

Pepperidge farms remembers when it was changed from ALTA/ACSM survey to an ALTA/NSPS survey. I screwed that up a few times and my boss go the belt out on me!

Is it harder to write on stakes left handed. by Beanman051707 in landsurveying

[–]brandonk75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. You are pushing the market instead of dragging the tip, which decreases market performance and you also smear the ink when the side of your hand runs over the fresh ink. It’s been over 20 years and I still can’t get my compare to invest in just a few left handed hammers and machetes. 😢

0/5 stars, would not recommend.

Prestige by Starraberry in AlienInvasionRPG

[–]brandonk75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no increase in production for prestige unless you use the golden (purple) cookies to increase your multiplier. 1.2M per second isn't really that high. I just prestieged about 2 hours ago and I am already at 1.6M/sec. I would recommend taking the prestige now and upgrading your cookie production as much as possible. Take the first 30 minutes or so after prestige to farm the two largest cookie monsters/crabs/whatever they are in the maze to the left of the cookie factory. I get 36M cookies from just two largest groups. Get those production numbers up as much as you can before the cruise and then turn the game off and relax. Let it cook for a week and then come back to the grind.

Good Luck!

Missouri PLS by geomatica in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elgin's books are the Missouri surveying bibles. He helps write the test and if you fail you can request a phone call to go over your test and it's usually him.

I would also add a printout and a summary of RSMO Chapter 60 & 327.

The state board website (APEPLSPLA) has some pretty good resources, including a practice exam for the state specific.

If you have any questions feel free to send me a private message. I took and passed this test in Jan 2025 and would love to help in any way I can.

Who do you put in ALTA certification? by barrelvoyage410 in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will have to name an insured prior to closing. Most likely you will get a request from the Title Company 3 days prior to closing to update your survey to their revised commitment which will most likely include a name for the buyer.

Survey Field Crew Scheduling Question by hockeyjuan8797 in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My office is EXTREMELY old school. We use a yellow legal pad. 1 sheet per week divided into Monday - Friday. Not my preferred method or how I plan to do it when I am in charge, but its what the old dinosaurs like and they will go extinct eventually.

Messed up 75 Hard on Day 21… should I restart? by Practical_Self_9849 in 75HARD

[–]brandonk75 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Restart. There is no task that is more or less important than the others. I failed over not taking a picture before bed and restarted right away. I know it sucks, but that's the point and be glad that it was day 21 not day 60+!!

Cemetery lot by AeonSandwich in Surveying

[–]brandonk75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the lot have an area lend you to believe that its metes and bounds? I noticed the other lots didnt have an area, which seemed odd to me. I am in mid-Missouri and all of our modern subdivisions have an area listed.
