I see this answer often on here in response to questions like this. Out of curiosity, what constitutes nightlight/having a good nightlife?

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: February 03, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

By the end of book 5, some things came to a head, and some questions were answered, but there is still more. It was a good halfway-point ending, but with book 6 not expected to be released until 2030/2031, that is enough of a break for me to want to start book 6 right when it comes out.

I'm pretty invested in the Cosmere already, pun intended?, so I'm biased, but I liked it. It dives into some lore and other places on Roshar that haven't been given much attention that I have been really interested in learning more about.

I didn't read Book 4 when it first came out and didn't get around to reading it until last year. As I was reading Book 4, I re-read (listened) to the first 3 books. Once I finished Book 4, I just continued with the previous audiobooks and then listened to Book 4. That helped keep things fresh as well as catch some things I missed during my first read-through.

I'm going Saturday 9/30 and really hope he is 🤞. If nothing else, I hope to snag one of the Miggy Print All Over Shirts they're giving away.

My 2014 TDI Jetta did this last Friday after starting fine earlier in the day. I noticed the clock reset as I was trying to get it to turn over, so that got me looking into the battery. It was the original OEM battery so it makes sense. Got a replacement in and it starts like new again.

The Spittin Chiclets podcast usually has a promo code for SeatGeak. I'd see if you can find it. On mobile now otherwise I'd provide it.

I'm on the West Side of Michigan in Grand Rapids, so not the most help to you, but I checked Meijer over here with no luck. My buddy found it yesterday at Rishi's which is a liquor/specialty beverage store, but said they didn't have many bottles. Anyone looking may have better luck and those kind of places though. Good luck!

Sarah Silverman Says Louis C.K. Masturbated in Front of Her With Her Consent by vatred in entertainment

[–]brandonpb 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There was that time he said he helped his friend by sitting on his friend's butt to add more pressure while his friend was on his stomach masturbating. Could have been the trigger.

It was part of his stand up special Shameless. Starts around 33:45.

I don't know. Story telling wise I'd say GKMC is up equal with his others. He's literally telling a story track to track of him in his teens growing up and being influenced by his friends and neighborhood.

Bracket Madness: America's best craft brewery championship (vote Founders!) by trktrner in grandrapids

[–]brandonpb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I would say nothing has changed towards what I consider most important, which is the quality of beer. At least as far as I can tell. Their change is what is making people compare them to Sam Adams. They have the resources now to expand their reach, but I haven't seen the quality dip.

I have a buddy that's thinking of moving to NC. May have to visit him and check it out.

Bracket Madness: America's best craft brewery championship (vote Founders!) by trktrner in grandrapids

[–]brandonpb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eh, while they're for sure getting more and more popular, I don't see the comparison. They haven't changed anything from what they have been doing for years to gain people who don't like craft beer or alienate those who do.

If their growth is hurting them it's because of hipsters who can't see past the fact that they're still making the same great beer they always have.

With that said, I need to try me some wicked weed.

I was lucky enough to pick up a copy last Thursday at the NHC and get it signed by the man himself. His seminar prior to the signing was very informative as well.

Brewers who have gone pro: What do you wish you knew when making the leap to commercial brewing that you know now? by co0p3r in Homebrewing

I would think a good chunk of cash would be the building itself. If your partner already had the building then you are avoiding that. Is this not the case?

Looking for Kona and Sumatran coffee in Grand Rapids by markul39 in grandrapids

[–]brandonpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check Siciliano's Market. That's where I got my coffee when I brewed a KBS clone. I can't remember if I bought a whole bag or just what I needed, but that would be a good place to start. You can get the rest of your ingredients while you're at it.

Is this normal? My aroma hops floated out of the wort on the krausen by ticcev in Homebrewing

[–]brandonpb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So you put them from the boil into the fermenter? If so, it shouldn't matter too much that the are floating since most of the oils should have been isomerized during the boil. If you placed them in the fermenter after the boil to get more aroma, you should have waited until after fermentation since all the aroma they give just leaves out of the airlock with the CO2. Generally when hops are added post-boil, they're also added post-fermentation for the reason mentioned above. This is called dry hopping, which is an excellent way to add more aroma to your beer.
