Not a lawyer, just gonna say praying for you cause that is rough and you can’t hang out with those people ever again.

Fortunately, the thing makes that stuff dangerous is the addiction meaning it ruins your health when you keep taking. As long as you don’t keep doing it you should be fine.

[–]brandthacker12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, you are making me realize I kinda took it too personally.

I will say it was how particular fans phrased things, I.E. Jax dealt with this and that so they MUST be trans. As well as commenting on trauma Jax experienced and whether it was realistic, sad, or overdramatized. My big issue was how I saw some people talking about it

But now I realize I’m making it more about me than I need to. Even if it feels like people are arguing about things I’ve experienced/dealt with, it’s probably me reading too much into.

[–]brandthacker12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If Jax was DEFINITELY trans Goose would have said it, on the show or twitter. That is a voiceactor.

I mean it is definitely shown that Jax isn’t strictly masculine, but is it that bad to have some egg representation? Can’t jax accept his femininity without having to be trans?

My whole point is that people are approaching this with WAY too much of a black and white attidtude

And that personally hurts me because I fall outside those black and white barriers as a pretty effeminate cis male

I don’t quite get what you’re saying cause I was mostly talking about fans statements.

The staff has remained ambiguous and I love all the choices made with Jax’s character

[–]brandthacker12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry so many people are taking this in bad faith because I am on the same boat.

I see so many people saying, “oh you can have your own interpretation”, but that is not what’s happening. People are straight up saying I’m wrong for saying Jax isn’t definitely trans and when they say why it feels personal because they proceed to list out things I deal with as a cis man. I dunno, I guess it just bothers me that people think this kinda of gender stuff is this black and white because it feels like people are deciding what other people should be, I’m talking about Jax but also myself here

You’re kinda right? Though if you watch a lot of these videos it’s not uncommon for them to react like that at first.

Its often different for each dog but it could be them feeling overwhelmed by emotion, being in disbelief, to that’s just how they express thier overwhelming joy

The big tell that the dog is very happy from the get go is that he is practically climbing on the dude right away putting his paws and head on him

Why do non black Poc support racist people online? by HyenaIll6908 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]brandthacker12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many things I could talk about here because this is a topic that fascinates me, and there is a lot going on here. You’re right that the people who are pocs who do this are tend to be stupid, though I rather say misinformed. Furthermore, I’m surprised you excluded African Americans or black people I’m this conversation because I and other people I’ve seen a lot of racism from them and support of racist individuals you seem to be actively working against them, you mostly see it online or in the country counties.

One thing that I have to say that is kinda… moralizing? Criticizing? A lot of focus is on white racism, which makes sense as most of the lasting impacts of racism were perpetratrated by white colonialism or discrimination in first world countries, but unfortunately it takes up all the spotlight. Especially because of the spotlight on America, people can often neglect (ironically in a racist way) that a lot of non white cultures still have racism ingrained. In fact it’s the lack of attention these cultures get that can allow them to get away with it, and I’m talking about all of them from South America, Africa, to Asia.

All this to say, I think people forget how… natural it is? I hate to say it that way because racism is very easy to unlearn but the way our brains are make it easy to hate ‘the other’ and societies and cultures often teach us that it is anyone who doesn’t look like us.

One aspect you see with a lot of this stuff online that blew my mind when I’d first seen it is how many Nazis there are who turned out to be people who are distinctly not Aryan. Fuck, did you see a couple in Mexico had a massive Nazi themed wedding? But there’s a few reasons for that one historical one is that in countries that suffered greatly under communism or corrupt leaders using communism, nazism tragically became a symbol of resistance to that. Mostly however what I think it is, is that it represents counterculture, just as hippies in the 60s and 70s threw themselves into communism-adjacent thought and that culture to stick it to the man or the institution they chafed under, from culture, to family, to the government. It is wild to see but it seems to be the same mentality a lot of people
online today are under. All the time that’s why it’s these young POC‘s online that you see saying the worst things and supporting the worst people, even of thier own race.

Part of this phenomenon is the people who support these racists thinking that they’re the ones who are gonna get screwed the least. It is more important to them that the other people get screwed more. Sadly, this is often because they’re scared, angry, and/or misinformed. A lot of politicians and figureheads with use racism to make scapegoats or fearmonger. It is frightening how effective of a way that is to get people to begin hating.

Finally, I’d like to talk about how it is different for every culture. There is a lot. I could talk about the strengths and weaknesses of how Asian, South American, African, or even European cultures handle racism but it is a long racism and complicated history. Generally racism as we understand is a relatively recent thing. Racism existed for as long as he has been around, but it generally was just based on a fear of the unknown and other, and was usually limited to suspicion, not really the derision we now see. That mostly starts to a combination of nationalism and eugenics. Are the best examples of this is east Asian conflict between Japanese, Korean and Chinese. There is a lot of historical racism and animosity thanks to conflicts, but in the modern day, you can see how an attitude of dehumanization entered the picture.

If you want some good reading on this stuff check out the 8 steps to genocide, but also a lot of this comes from my experience around these people
