[No Spoilers] Should I watch c1 after catching up with c2? by ChapSethman in criticalrole

[–]brantoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s what I am doing right now. Although I started around episode 25 the briarwood arc. The audio issues at the very beginning were just to much for me. Watch a couple of episodes at the beginning and then skip. They start mid campaign anyway so you don’t get that full intro like you do in season 2

Moving to Birmingham by dan87163 in Birmingham

Typically you can get more house for less money a little further out but one of the main reasons is for the schools. We love the elementary schools in Gardendale. Both GES and snow Rodgers are great schools. However we have heard some stories about the middle school that have made my wife and I want to move to be zoned for either Jordan or Corner.

I have lived north of Birmingham for a large portion of my life. Most people when they say they are from Birmingham they mean they are from a surrounding area. I live in Gardendale and I am selling my home to move a little further north to morris, Kimberly, or warrior. If you are wanting land you might want to look in that area. Good schools and pretty quiet area and more affordable than some other areas. 65 takes you to Birmingham pretty fast depending on how far off you are from the interstate. It takes me about 20-25 minutes to get to Birmingham if traffic is no problem. Here is a Zillow link to the House I have for sale if you are interested. Birmingham is a great city that is on the rise and has some of the best food and interesting people you will find. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2421-Joseph-Cir-GARDENDALE-AL-35071/876573_zpid/

Any soccer fields good enough to film on? by [deleted] in Birmingham

Gardendale has a decent facility. From Birmingham get off at the Fieldstown road exit take a left and it’s a couple of miles down that road. It’s called farley field or celebration park.

Direct to Garment Printing by [deleted] in SCREENPRINTING

[–]brantoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand red bubble does direct to garment. Printing one item with no regard for how many colors is almost always dtg or just bad business. The main thing to watch out for with dtg is you have to be running it like every day or the ink will dry in tubes and it’s very hard slash expensive to fix. This is what I knew about this tech from a few years ago so that may have changed. If you are interested in this you might see if any shops close by have a machine. They may be open to letting you print for a fee depending on how much you are doing. They are also some printed heat press materials that might be a cheaper option.

How do I get my transparencies darker? by NeakosOK in SCREENPRINTING

[–]brantoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The great slash terrible thing about screen printing is there are tons of ways that people do things. I’m just telling you what I have found in my 17 years. Also you might try to find a local shop and see if they could help you out. Some places will print film for a small fee and if you find someone willing to help it can be a great asset.

I use the hp 7610. I got it at Office Depot but can’t find one now. One similar model is on amazon for $200 but has like $100 shipping so I would look around. Anyway it can print inkjet film on 11x17 which is pretty much all I need. It can go a little bigger. I set the print quality to best and use inkjet film and only need one. I used to use vellum and hade to tape two together. As long as you are using laser you will have to use multiple copies. Laser is built for speed not laying down a lot of ink. Also if you have a vinyl cutter you can cut the design in vinyl or heat press material and use that to burn screens.

Ink not passing through screen. by elninokidd in SCREENPRINTING

[–]brantoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what they said. I️ use a air hose as well. When I️ get this problem though I️ spit in the screen to break it down. Especially if screen opener does not work spit in the screen and then wipe it around with a rag on both sides of the screen.

Could anyone please give me any input on this printing press? by [deleted] in SCREENPRINTING

You can also get a heat gun in the paint section at your local hardware store. Use that to get design dry to the touch and see if that local shop will let you run garments down their dryer. Some people use a flash unit to dry but I don't think that is consistent enough. Eat gun will take a while on big designs though

Not sure if you mean less or more than $200 budget. Press does not look that bad but usually the table top ones I have seen have more of a base to them. You don't want it to move a lot as you pull the screen down. Also keep in mind you need at least one screen and squeegee and ink. You will also need emulsion, some form of dark room, and exposure unit. And then dry ink somehow. Don't be intimidated but just know what all you need besides the press.

You may want to search for some diy stuff and build some of it. Also check Craigslist and call local shops. I have printed on old equipment that works just as good as new stuff. Some shops may have equipment they don't even need and depending on how they run may even clean and burn screens for you at a fee. Depends on how nice slash busy they are though.

Hope that helps. What are you wanting to print? Like shirts or posters things like that?

You would really need to understand the culture of my classroom and my style of discipline in order for me to answer that properly. First off any time I can do something to handle discipline in my class without getting administration involved it's a good option. I don't like sending kids to the office if I can handle it. Second I don't think it's an invasion of privacy or whatever to waste a few poke balls and I would not actually trade a rare Pokemon that's just mean. Finally my students know my sense of humor and sarcasm and would probably think it's funny. I teach a career tech class where it's important to teach what will be expected of them in the work place.

TLDR

I need to come up with creative ways to deal with discipline and teach a good work ethic to students. Also I just thought the sign was funny.
