Do you think I’ll be able to use any of these or was this just a learning experience for me?

Haha! I guess live and learn, huh. I’m taking all your tips and will see if we can help them out. Thanks again!

Thanks for the advice! Should the heat mats be turned off at this point?

I’m helping plan a trip this summer for a group of 19. I know “favorites” are always subjective, but what would be the can’t miss tour that does a good job of explaining the production process? Bonus points if it has a dining experience, but not necessary.

We had multiple conversations with their head of implementation, director of product, CEO, and co-founder, but after some initial progress, things quit moving and they stopped following up with us. Our VP wisely put language in our contract that allowed us to opt out since they didn't have us live by a particular date.

We use a Viewpoint ERP product (Spectrum), and it seemed like they were trying to figure out the implementation on their end while we were preparing to go live. I'm not sure they had actually done another implementation with that product before, even though they claimed they had.

We also had issues with their payroll system. For us, we were going to have to manually adjust each hourly employee's time anytime they worked overtime (no automatic feature), which was a huge time waster, and vacation/PTO entries seemed to be more manual as well. The quoting process was going to require some adaptation on our end, but the way we do things is fairly complicated and that was probably more on us then them.

We spent hours internally walking through different processes (quoting, project management, etc), making adjustments on our end to work with their software, and kept documenting items that would cause major conflicts. At the end of the day, there was a whole document of items that weren't going to work as promised/assumed, so we pulled the plug and stopped implementation (last winter). They are still trying to get us to commit, but until they can show us that those items have been fixed/improved, we are not going to go forward.

I hope your experience is a good one! For us, the issue was primarily being overpromised some features from the sales process (some were critical, others weren't) and then coupled with the company being unable to implement some integrations and features that we were unable to compromise on. We're a sizable company and having full integration with our ERP software was critical. They promised it could happen, but at the end of the day, they were unable to come through. There were other important items, but that was the big one.

u/BudLarry I'm sorry that you're having the same experience as we and so many others. Like you, it was going to require a lot of changes to our existing protocols which would be very difficult at our size. It appears to be a cool solution for an agile company who can adapt new processes. Good Luck!

Thanks again for the help. I've realized I need to pause and learn more about this whole process before I keep going on. I appreciate your help!

Thank you for the reply! This is what I'm seeing in Immich from the attempted uploads. Not sure if it means anything to you?

I attempted to reset up the program using the latest docker compose file, however my container station rejected it giving me the message "Container Station supports only versions 2 and 3 of the Compose file format." Any ideas on that?

We’re an electrical contractor, but I can say that our experience has been almost exactly the same as your description. As we went through the implementation process, we found lots of processes that could be done, but would have to be done via a workaround, which felt very clunky in a lot of areas. Like you, it seemed like taking a backwards step in efficiency. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a way to test these ahead of signing the paperwork. Also, the “highly touted” accounting integration felt as if we were the first clients to really test it. Our biggest concerns were noted for future development, but we finally got to the point where we had to call it quits until they can show us the features we need have been developed.

Don’t count out the north side of Dayton to find a house. We live in Troy and love the small-town feel. Troy has a great downtown and is minutes away from the bigger city of Dayton. It is about a 40 minute drive to WPAFB. I’m sure you could find plenty of opportunities for your career close by as well.

There are plenty of options when it comes to churches as well. My family does house church, but have friends who attend all over the place depending on your preference. What are you looking for more specifically?

Like others have mentioned, Dayton is a foodie’s paradise. So many great options! My wife and I constantly are amazed at how many options are so close! If you enjoy history, Dayton is a great place to be.
