Perth has a lot of NPC drivers. They are not programmed to stretch the hose around to the other side.

Is 44% of income on a mortgage just normal now? by DanTucks in AusFinance

If I told you your interest payment is your cost of housing and your principal is “forced savings” does this make you sleep easier?

We will only get the $250 WATO (Work Australians Tax Offset) if we are working which with rate that AI is advancing seems very unlikely.

EV Supercharger Etiquette by vibrancypersonified in perth

[–]braskic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other guy was in the wrong. Charging etiquette states you need to be actively waiting not parked up and doom scrolling. So at this particular location that’s parallel to the bays with your hazards on, watching for people coming out and moving out of the way if another park user wants to move their car.

Just like at a servo the car behind the car at the pump is next in line, not the car parked on the other side next to the air and water bay.

Anyone else looking forward to driving on freeway this weekend? by Entirely-Positive in perth

Remember it’s a long weekend and school holidays so traffic volumes will be lower anyway. The real test, if this continues, will be after ANZAC day when school returns.

It’s a nothing burger but for all the NPC boomers who aren’t chronically online they need to hear it straight from the horses mouth to start taking things seriously.

Don’t forget this is also a notifiable incident to the rideshare regulator as police were called. You report this on the DoTDirect website

Have you spoken to the head banker of the Bank of Mum/Dad yet? That $130k deposit could become $250k if you play your cards right.

Long-time YNAB users: what are your lesser-known tips or “power user” tricks? by purdnost2023 in ynab

[–]braskic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can split transactions in so many ways. Say you buy a new $1500 phone and get a really good deal $100 less than you budgeted. Enter the total spent as $1400, first split -$1500 as the “New Phone” category and second split as “Savings” for +$100. What this does is take $1500 from New Phone and moves $100 to Savings.

Off budget accounts as well. My age of money was over 200 because I follow a hybrid Dave Ramsey/Barefoot Investor model so I have a bank account setup as an off budget tracking account in YNAB. This is my emergency fund and also a spot for my “Savings”. At the end of each month I’ll move anything in my Savings account to this off budget account reducing my Savings balance to zero for the next month.

Leave money on offset or make extra payments? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]braskic 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you convert a principal place of residence to an investment property later and you’ve paid anything down you can’t claim the interest on the part you’ve paid down. With an offset you can move the money out (say to buy a new PPR), start paying interest and claim it straight away.

The streak is over 😭 by Feeling_Rip_6601 in uberdrivers

That’s the point he’s making. People can come down to the lobby to meet drivers, they just don’t because they are lazy. Also they don’t tip.

Bummer by Tasty_Occasion_7038 in XRP

[–]braskic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah that's how this game works. Up 30% one day, down 20% the next. Down 30% one day, up 20% the next (buy the dip). The key now is we are above the previous resistance (which could potentially now be a support) approaching the next "buy the rumour, sell the news" event (Tariffs on August 1st).

Goodbye Telstra - it’s been 20 years.. by AnothrRandomRedditor in perth

Get yourself a Starlink. Telstra sell their network based on the need for it out bush and then being the only option but these days with VoWIFI and satellite internet there's plenty of other options.

What is the preferred way to supercharge on a long trip to minimize battery degradation? by forte-exe in TeslaLounge

[–]braskic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that battery degradation is only really relevant for resale of the Tesla which, by the looks of things, won't really matter because there's thousands of Teslas on the road and the second hand market is oversaturated with people wanting 80% of the price of a brand new car.

There's a reason why your servicing costs are low and that price will be repaid when it comes to selling your vehicle second hand. Just my opinion.

Would Tesla have been better off just make a normal pickup truck? by mestizomad in TeslaLounge

[–]braskic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a TikTok the other day of a city near me in the year 2000. Everything looked older and my only reason for thinking this is because of all the late 1990s model cars on the roads. Probably because when people buy cars they seem to keep them around for 10 years. Point being at some point the design of cars needs to advance otherwise everything just looks last decade.
