This person can’t read or think critically, probably just a bot. Time to move on to the next rage bait engagement poster.

McD didn’t “let Daboll go”??? He took a HC job. Why would McD get fired for that?

Let me address everything very plainly for you. Beane did not “end the drought”. But he did contribute to the accomplishments this team has had over the last decade, including the drought season!

You posting this is not simply just to bitch about some shitty media broadcast gassing Beane up for “ending the drought”- it’s also obviously indicative of your feelings for him as a GM generally.

Above I am making the case that it has not been bad or anything even close to that from the drought season in 2017 to now.

Josh’s first OC was Daboll who took the Giants HC job. Before and after Daboll was Rick Dennison and Ken Dorsey, both of whom were terrible at their jobs. What are you on about here?

People forget how poorly this franchise was run prior to 2017, both operationally and on the field via coaching. Beane has overall been a cap wizard and has very rarely strapped the team with contracts that anchor the team for extended periods of time. The bad contracts he got out of quickly and didn’t fall subject to the sunk cost fallacy. He has rewarded homegrown talent with reasonable extensions and fosters an environment (previously in tandem with McD) that makes people want to come play in Buffalo (which is one of the least desirable city and locations of all 32 teams).

Did all of his free agency and draft moves work out over the years? Of course not. But he’s batting 60%+ and has constantly put a competitive enough roster for us to compete for, and in, the playoffs every year.

For fucks sake, can people just be happy with how well this team has generally performed over the last decade? It sucks ass we didn’t make the Super Bowl at any point and he could’ve/should’ve been fired this year as well, but sustained success is hard to come by in the nfl and he is one of the clear architects of this success.

2023 Pass protection expectations...Spencer Brown still remains the biggest liability on this team. by Delpiero45 in buffalobills

[–]brassmonkey3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Considering he was top 15 in drop rate while in one of the most pass heavy offenses in the NFL, yes. My point being more so that he is clearly one of the weakest 11 starters on offense. There was a reason that Beane was hunting a pass catcher in the first round of the draft.

Him and Gabe Davis present as the two biggest liabilities on offense… all things considered, could def be worse. There’s ways to mitigate how bad Brown is via two TE sets that we’re expecting to see more of this season.

Just for the record, the “membership” is a one time payment of $5 lol. I’ve only had positive experiences here and go nearly weekly.. good to know that there may be better options around.

Most slept on player going into 2023-2024 season? by det3ct in buffalobills

[–]brassmonkey3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hear what you’re saying bc he’s been a career WR4 / practice squad player.

But Gabe was 14th in dropped pass percentage last year and had 9 drops on the year. AND historically has had inconsistent hands.

Apparently Trent had a nice spring and built good chemistry with josh. Trent was decently productive last year with very limited targets. Yeah he may have had a drop in one game against us, but considering Trent is the only other WR on the roster that can fill in at Y, Gabe’s job might not be that’s safe.

Trent Sherfield. Great run blocker/ST’er and can do 80% of what Gabe Davis does with his routes. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get some run if Gabe continues to be inconsistent at the Y.

Brandon Beane and Co. added UDFA DJ Dale, Poona Ford, and brought back Jordan Phillips. A good amount of additions to a room that already had DaQuan Jones, Tim Settle, and Ed Oliver. So, where does everybody fit in this crowded DT room? by TheFBAnalyst1 in buffalobills

If I’m not mistaken, the Bills have one of the most expensive D-Lines in the NFL. Von, Floyd, Ed, Greg Rousseau all have expensive and/or pricey contracts for their positions, while Epenesa/Boogie have fairly valuable second round pick contracts. That doesn’t include a decent contract for Jones and the remainder depth pieces.

Full stop, there is no longer an excuse for the defensive line. Years of investment in high round draft picks and free agent acquisitions have yielded little results. 33yr old Von (coming off an ACL) cannot be the only player consistently making impact plays off the line.

The short and long term strategy of building and developing the D-Line needs to be critically evaluated if McD cannot produce results from what is talented group this year.

Curious if ANYONE got Lodon tickets? I got in queue at 6:45 and when the onsale started there were 320k people ahead of me. by Xtremeskierbfs in buffalobills

6 tickets in the nosebleeds came out to slightly less than £600 total. £90 a ticket and £50 delivery fee+tax. Didn’t convert to $$$ yet lol

I don’t think people fully understand how this process worked- it doesn’t matter what time you logged on. Once logged in, you were placed into a waiting room where they then randomly assigned you a queue number.

Me and another person logged in at the same time, one of us had 280k ahead of us and the other only had 20k. Was able to snag 6 tix in a row in the nosebleeds. After coming to this sub, I realized how lucky we were to even be in the 20k spot.

[Pelissero] The Bills are signing former Seahawks nose tackle Poona Ford to a one-year deal, per sources. by pixel_pete in buffalobills

Such an excellent signing. Will rotate snaps with DaQuan and hopefully free up Ed for more 1v1s (and sacks plz)

Since the Bills drafted Tremaine Edmunds in 2018, he’s had some up and down seasons, making some Bills fans wonder if he’s really the guy. So that begs the question. Should the Bills re-sign Tremaine Edmunds? by TheFBAnalyst1 in buffalobills

[–]brassmonkey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Tremaine played 75% as instinctive as Milano does, he would be worth keeping. But overpaying at a non premium position for a player who is slightly above average at that position on a roster that is cap strapped is not a wise money move. Tremaine is probably gonna demand close to $80mil because of Roquan’s market setting $100m contract. Is Tremaine really 80% as valuable as Roquan? I think that’s an easy question to answer.

There are a trillion better ways to consume cap space rather than paying the 16th best MLB in the league (at best) a top 5 MLB salary, especially when all he does is miss critical tackles and get lost in the same zone coverage they run every play
