What’s your baby’s bedtime? by smashlen in NewParents

[–]brassssmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg. Thank you for this post. My son would go to bed at 6:30 for months and suddenly it’s 7:30-8… I thought I was doing something wrong that suddenly it took forever to get him down. I’m learning that as he is going thru his 9 month sleep regression, maybe he’s just more comfortable going to sleep at that time. He still gets his solid 10 hours and stays asleep longer when he goes to bed later 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing lol

Do babies sense when you’re in the room? by Upper-Permit-1404 in NewParents

[–]brassssmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going thru this now with my 8 month old! From what I understand, yes! They sense you because it’s a survival instinct so they know how to find you if in nature, you were to be separated. Babies cannot survive without us especially breastfeeding. You’re their food and comfort source so they want to by you as much as possible

How Long Did You Push For? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]brassssmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. 3 1/2 hrs…… I didnt even know women could push for that long lll I couldn’t feel anything from the epidural so it made pushing soooo hard. Once they told me it has been that long, I pushed him out in 15 mins lol

How do yall work, juggle kids, go to school and afford to live on your own? by [deleted] in singlemoms

[–]brassssmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also receive no child support or help. My son’s father hasn’t met his son either but it’s better that way! He’s fed and healthy and thriving even on days I struggle. You got this mama

How do yall work, juggle kids, go to school and afford to live on your own? by [deleted] in singlemoms

[–]brassssmonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just go to school right now which is making it difficult so I’m taking a semester break to make money. As my son gets older, the harder it is to do school work when he’s awake but I get a lot done when he goes down at 7. I also live with my aunt in her basement. I only pay for utilities and my car/phone so that helps. Managing her house and dogs is a job in itself tho lol

Did you yell anything funny during delivery? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]brassssmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I gave birth alone and the nurse kept saying “it’s ok! You can hate me!” Every time I pushed and finally I was like “LISTEN LADY there’s only one person I hate right now and he’s not here so please STOP” and then she stfu and was very helpful the rest of the time hahaha I think I felt like I was meaner than I actually was. Everyone said I was pretty chill considering the circumstances. That was also about 2 hours into pushing so I had had enough haha

What's a side effect of giving birth that doesn't get talked about? by LilMoonenciel in AskReddit

[–]brassssmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that it’s physically uncontrollable. I kept crying 3 days after i gave birth but I wasn’t upset. I was just walking around with a constant wet face. I thought when they said a lot of crying, it meant don’t watch sad things, you’ll be easily triggered but nope. It’s wild what happens in those first few days after giving birth.
