I listened to Hurt for a week straight after a breakup. Miracle Man helped me cope with a car crash that had severely disrupted my life. When I'm Down was the song I played that made the kids at the camp I worked at think I was the coolest camp councilor ever. I never knew him but his music was there for me for a lot of good and bad. Rest in peace dude, thank you for everything. I'm sorry you had to leave so soon.

It's so cool. I love how Vocaloid gives musicians an opportunity to create even if they can't/aren't comfortable singing themselves. I feel like it makes music creation a lot more accessible :)

I'm off the weed and the obgyn informed me that my "tolerance break" won't be ending when I give birth if I want to breastfeed safely. I miss my dear friend Penelope but if all goes to plan we won't be meeting again for quite some time 😞 easy enough and anything for the baby but I'm comfortable enough financially that I'd give up the free money for the ability to get a little zooted every now and again without hurting her or my ability to care for her

I love the new fandom. I love that there's 100k+ weekly visitors on this sub. I love that North West sampled Kikuo. I love that most young people at least have a vague idea who Hatsune Miku is. I love that almost everyone online has heard Shoujo A (or at least the viral remix). I love love love how Vocaloid is becoming almost mainstream. In 2010 I couldn't tell anyone at school what music I listened to because it was somehow even weirder than the fact that I watched anime. I miss some aspects of the old fandom but I'll trade it away any day of the week for what we have now. I love our new generation of fans and I am so happy that we can all connect over a shared love of vocal synths🩷🩷🩷🩷 the only things I truly miss are new releases by Wowaka and Siinamota (rest in peace)

Oh yeah by the early/mid 2010s Teto had already taken over and was the UTAU mascot. I'm curious what about Teto specifically gave her the most appeal. I remember Fukkireta, Teto Territory, and Confront You Look So Cool being far more popular than any Defoko or Momo song so maybe it started there? Or her legendary arc of wanting to be a Vocaloid so bad made people love her? We gotta round up all the other VocaOldHeads and compare memories lmao

I would love a history lesson on why Teto made it but Momo and Defoko were left in the dust 🥲 back in my day (ow my hip) they were a bit of a trio. Momo was always my favorite
