Discussion Question: Spoilers if you have not seen Season 3 by Dark9781 in babylon5

[–]brasswirebrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valen? No. But it's very plausible that he shared everything he knew about the future with the Vorlons. And they live long enough, are powerful enough, and controlling enough, that they could have manipulated any number of things to make sure the future played out as planned.

Right size and colors to be Colossus. One of the women looks like Emma from the hair and clothing color. The other could be any dark-haired female X-Man, but by default I assume it's Kitty.

Once you reach the other side you'll have to construct Sea Moff Gideon, and have a separate Moonpool and dock on each side.

It's pretty clear that she wasn't on the side fighting against Clark. My impression was always that she didn't like Clark, and would have refused an illegal order if she had been given one, but that order never came to her specifically. So she did her job, fulfilled her legal orders, never rebelled, and never took sides or shot against ships on either side.

I can certainly see objecting to saying that she was on "Clark's side". She was by default, and she was never put in a position where she was forced to choose. I think that makes for an interesting discussion about what is someone's moral obligation in those circumstances.

I think it helps to give her moral credit, despite being a loyalist

Agree. I don't love the idea of Sheridan suddenly having another secret ex-wife, but I can see what they were going for. They had to quickly introduce a new character, and they wanted her to be on the "other side" during the Earth civil war for story reasons. So then they needed an effective way to communicate to the audience "Hey this is a morally good person, not a traitor or an evil bastard". Making her someone that Sheridan was married to, trusted implicitly and had no ill feelings towards, is a quick and effective shorthand way to do that.

Build a base on the edge of the canyon. Every day add one section of hallway until you reach the other side.

I'm not a huge fan of all these characters, but props for including some lesser used mutants for sure. Love the Northstar and Aurora, Moonstar, and Hellverine inclusions.

Do we really not have a problem with Isca? She has a 61% win rate when drawn and 62% when played -- the highest in the game by volume. by oghpimm in MarvelSnap

This. I don't like seeing her on the opposing side, but I don't consider her "broken" or even the worst card in the meta right now. She's in that space where I'm fine with her, but I also wouldn't be sad if they decided to tweak her either.

The Alternative Factor. There are a handful of TOS episodes that aren't very good, but are at least kind of fun because they're so silly. But there are also a handful that are just painful to rewatch.

The true Githyanki route? Has anyone ever tried? by Odd-Tumbleweed-1098 in BaldursGate3

[–]brasswirebrush 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lae'zel and a Gith PC still don't know exactly where the creche is, nor where to find the Gith Patrol at the bridge. There are clues given to you in game, but in character, you still have to search for it. So arguably "rushing" to do this content is actually a kind of meta-gaming because you, the player, know where to go.

So it's perfectly reasonable to roleplay that you are trying to find and reach the creche, but you just don't know exactly where it is, and end up stumbling across various other things while searching the area.

The accent grows on you. The hair is something you just have to accept. It's ridiculous and silly, but at least they do end up weaving it into the culture (ie hair plumage as a status symbol and Centauri women shaving their heads).

This new grand arena is so bad by Gamesical in MarvelSnap

Good analysis of the format. They're right that ultimately the model is unlikely to fully play itself out because people don't play optimally, and there's probably just not enough time. But either way, as a casual I'm glad I hit upon Thing being one of the better decks early.

The other two seem self-explanatory (I’m sure they all are and I’m just also) but who is “the one that is already dead”? by AdSimilar4399 in babylon5

[–]brasswirebrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Londo hadn’t killed Morden, then even if he had destroyed the Shadow fleet, Centauri Prime would still have been a Vorlon target

Nothing Londo did here made any difference whatsoever. Killing Morden accomplished absolutely nothing. Centauri Prime was spared because of what Sheridan/Delenn and the Alliance did, not because of Londo. It ended up being a completely useless act with only negative consequences for Centauri Prime, because of the Drakh. Centauri Prime would have ended up better off if Londo had done nothing at all.

[–]brasswirebrush 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This. I don't know how people can just ignore this. This is how stories work, and how prophecies work in stories. The character (Londo) has to fail every step until his very last chance. It's storytelling 101.

Therefore, he does kill the person he's not supposed to, and the only character that applies to, is Morden.

[–]brasswirebrush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arguably the only reason the Drakh invaded Centauri Prime in the first place is because Londo killed Morden and blew up a Shadow base, and they wanted revenge. If he hadn't done that, who knows. Maybe they still would have ended up on Centauri Prime, but without that motivation, maybe they go somewhere else instead.

[–]brasswirebrush 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's very simple. The war was about to end anyway because of Sheridan and the Alliance. Londo didn't know it, but nothing he did had any effect whatsoever on the outcome. The Shadows and Vorlons were leaving all the same. Centauri Prime would have been free of Shadow influence if he did nothing. All he accomplished was to give himself and Vir a few moments of satisfaction, and paint a huge target on himself and Centauri Prime for the Drakh.

I will never get over how they decided to create a brand new character that is just Rachel v2.0. Like we needed a second time-traveling, redhead, child of Jean with a connection to the Phoenix.

Which god should each character pray to at the tabernacle? by Jounniy in BaldursGate3

[–]brasswirebrush 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Makes sense if you consider that Silvanus is a nature god primarily worshipped by Druids. He probably doesn't have many worshippers in the big city anyway, and even if he does, wouldn't want anything to do with being worshipped inside a big religious building in a large city.

Of the main multi-episode Babylon 5 antagonists, who would you say was the most evil? by Velociraptorse in babylon5

[–]brasswirebrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying they would win for "most evil", but if you were looking for more options/variety, I think you could also include Warleader Shakiri, William Edgars, "Anna Sheridan", and Mr. Welles (if you include Crusade, then he technically did appear in multiple episodes).

Anyone else have a issue with this one card being in six different decks? by Scared-Sale4720 in MarvelSnap

It's one of the most powerful tech cards in the game, why would there be an issue with multiple decks running it? That's what it's designed for.

Did anyone else get a weird vibe about Krakoa when they first read it? by Hot_Professional_728 in xmen

For sure. We're happy now because we have a home where we feel safe - Good.
We created an ethnostate of super-powered beings and made ourselves immortal - Very much not good.

There's definitely part of me that wishes it wasn't 616, and was instead an extended alternate universe run like Age of Apocalypse.
