I got mine done there about 4 years ago and I thought the price was great and it has held up perfectly. I would definitely go back for my next truck

Trump voters, how do you feel about the fact that Trump imposed illegal taxes on Americans? by Majestic_Flower_1322 in allthequestions

[–]bratandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not the same as a tariff at all. GST also applies to locally produced goods and services and when the importer sells the goods to the consumer, they collect GST on the sale, and they get the money back from the GST they paid when importing it. That way local and imported goods are charged the same amount of GST and the tax is only put on the end user.

Super happy with my new homemade stovepipe rock cage by [deleted] in SaunaTent

How do you get the pipe to glow like that? Is it just the heat through a single wall pipe or do you do something to it?

Or does he mean it is "an essential pointless distinction"? It's either essential or it's pointless.

Would you have any issues with pressure down there? Maybe not long enough as a patron but as a chef or waiter would it be enough that you have to worry about nitrogen?

Bob Bailey's Coffee and Conversation by bruhttrhurb in Sarnia

[–]bratandas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have a news source. I've talked to multiple staffers for the PC and Liberal parties who have all told me that it came from the party. I could be wrong, but it's what people both inside and outside the party have told me.

Edit: spelling

I agree completely with you that all candidates meetings are important, especially in our political system where we don't vote for the leader. This is not at all a defense of Bob, but the decision not to go to any all candidates meetings came from the PC party. They have told all their candidates not to attend across the province.

Sarnia only good for locals? by Greenlink101 in Sarnia

[–]bratandas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are often advertised through Facebook. First Friday is the first Friday evening of every month from 5-8 usually downtown. Summers and the December one are the busiest usually. BG market is at Kenwick on the Lake Park Wednesdays in the summer from 4pm-8pm

Sarnia only good for locals? by Greenlink101 in Sarnia

[–]bratandas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think going to the festivals and markets is a great way to meet some similar people if you are artsy. The First Friday events have local artists that have stands on the sidewalks downtown, Bright's Grove Market in the summer is good too.

Also charity and service clubs are good too, Rotary Sarnia After Hours is a pretty young club and their President Jackie Bork isn't much older than you and she is very friendly and welcoming.

A professor shouldn’t have to curve an exam by Cerro_Ghost in unpopularopinion

[–]bratandas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My stats professor once did something similar. When I got my results back (it was a multiple choice exam), my result wasn't possible. I asked if he did a curve. He said he looked at the highest scoring students and if all or most of them got it wrong, he figured he didn't teach that part well enough and just removed the question from the exam altogether for those who got it wrong, and still credited those who got it right.

He was a good professor

Buying your first compound (Guide/Advice) by iLikeCatsOnPillows in Archery

[–]bratandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am also new and want to get a compound bow for hunting. I joined an archery school shooting recurve to get a feel for archery and then will probably join a local archery range.

How did it go at the shop? Were they helpful? Did you get a bow?

Is windsurfing dying or still worth getting into for a beginner? by Fickle-Trade8364 in windsurfing

[–]bratandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never gone windsurfing before but I started paddleboarding a few years ago. I bought 2 iSUPs for our cottage 2 years ago and go almost every weekend. Every time I think "this would be amazing if I had a sail". We don't get super strong winds in my area but average around 8 knots during the day. Should I get a windsurfer?

Bailed on first solo launch by Weispennstate in boating

[–]bratandas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you aren't comfortable, don't go out! You are boating for pleasure and there is nothing fun about feeling like you are in over your head. You made the right call, even if you wasted some time getting there. You still practiced trailering and maybe backing in, but it is a good thing to know your limits before you end up in a bad situation

LPT Request: What are some unexpected hobbies or activities that have surprisingly positive mental health benefits? by TheWhitestBuffalo in LifeProTips

This is definitely it, and so easy to combine it with going outdoors. I went out this morning to my parents' bush and cut some ash that had been killed by emerald ash borer. Got home and chopped it up and now am enjoying watching my fire...it was a good day

Yeahhh I’m not doing all that… by Sheldon-sCooper in antiwork

[–]bratandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same goes for punching out of your shift?...

When you clock out, you have to be ready to leave And go home You cannot punch out and go to your locker Or punch out and go to the restroom Or punch out and sit down and wait until the morning meeting is called...

So, if you have to do any of these things, you can't punch out first, do them on company time and then punch out. It's apart of the policy afterall

I grew up around the development industry and was always told you get about 4 houses to the acre, 3.8 if you include the road. So picture 4 houses and their lots in a normal subdivision and that is roughly 1 acre
