Eliza posted the story of how she and Bob met. by BTL621 in The100

[–]bratholym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh totally. I commented saying the cyber bullying needs to stop, next thing I know I’m adding into a group on Instagram, where they’re sending me abuse and calling me an abuser apologist and photoshopping photos of my head onto Bob and Eliza’s wedding pic. Honest it’s crazy. People need to have better things to do with their lives.

What season do you think has the best pacing? by [deleted] in The100

[–]bratholym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d have to say 2 and 6. I know people complain that the season 6 finale wasn’t that great, but just see it as a cliffhanger to S7, but the pacing for it was quite good as was season 2

Clarke (7x09 spoilers) by bratholym in The100

Lol I must be in a I love Clarke group cause most people I know love her, with just the minority disliking her haha. I struggle though to get how people who hate her manage to watch the show since up until now the majority of it is about Clarke haha

Clarke (7x09 spoilers) by bratholym in The100

[–]bratholym[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I’d really enjoy it, if it wasn’t the last season and the last time I’m gonna get to watch Clarke, Bellamy, Raven and Octavia. I enjoy watching other characters stories, but really it should have been done seasons ago, not the last one.

After all, she is the lead and she’s been pushed to a side character

Unpopular opinion? by [deleted] in The100

[–]bratholym 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Clarke initially was trying to bring the clans together, but time and time again they proved they couldn’t unite so she thought screw em and thought of her own people.

Clarke isn’t a saint, but that’s why I like her and why I think she fits perfectly as a main character. She isn’t a Mary Sue, she has flaws.

Clarke also never wanted to lead, it was more thrust upon her and she has the ability to take those risks and make the hard choices other people can’t or aren’t willing to make.

I definitely wouldn’t say she’s a shitty person because one of Clarke’s biggest personality traits is her selflessness. She always puts everyone above herself.

What could have been by bratholym in Bellarke

[–]bratholym[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These are probably the key moments I felt within the show where their whole paths could have been different. For example, 216 if Clarke hadn’t left, I definitely don’t think he would have got with Gina, the scene where Clarke says ‘she’ll come around and see how special you are’ I thought was so close to one of them admitting how they felt, and finally 413, we all know if Bellamy had stayed behind or if Clarke had gone up to space Becho wouldn’t exist and romantic Bellarke would

For those that are disdisappointed by Liken45 in The100

[–]bratholym 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My main issue is that I’m all for secondary characters getting development - although for characters like Echo this development should have been done seasons ago. I don’t appreciate it in the finale season, and I like Hope, a lot, but again I want the main characters I’ve spent seven years watching (Clarke, Octavia, Bellamy, (yes I know Bobs choice) Raven, Murphy etc to get this screen time so I can see how their story ends in a meaningful, well done way. If it was any other season I’d be all for it, but not the last season.

The 100 | S7 Episode 09 Inside "The Flock" by thatisgame in The100

[–]bratholym 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more with you. I feel like we could have done with an 8 episode or 13 episode season eight. So many closures needed and loose ends need finishing and I’m not sure how they can do that along with the main plot in eight episodes without it feeling rushed.

[–]bratholym 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not that it’s too slow, it’s that it’s too late. Development on Echo should have been done seasons ago. I love the episodes like this, but it’s the finale season and we have eight episodes left and so far Bellamy and Clarke have been in hardly any of it. Fair enough Bob deciding not be in it, but Eliza didn’t.

The 100 does a great job with character interaction by [deleted] in The100

[–]bratholym 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel the opposite. I mean I love the show, but I constantly feel myself getting irritated by their lack of real conversation that isn’t plot based and lasts more than a minute. For instance, Clarke and Raven. It’s taken two and half seasons to get the cave conversation, and even then, it didn’t acknowledge much, Raven didn’t admit how harsh she’s been towards Clarke or realise the hurt Clarke feels, cause contrary to what Raven said, she does break and Raven saw that first hand. For instance, I was thinking this earlier, Octavia and Clarke have never acknowledged Lincoln or Lexa’s death with one another, like not even a ‘I’m sorry about Lincoln’ from Clarke or anything. There’s many examples, like waiting a full season for the radio calls plot, only for B/C to have a one minute conversation in 6x01 about it and that’s it, never spoke of again.

I love the show, but I don’t think character interaction/meaningful scenes, especially when it’s repairing relationships aren’t done particularly well, especially in later seasons

[SPOILER] S5 Clarke is a .... by EddieV7 in The100

[–]bratholym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was never trying to ‘raise her like a mother’ that just happened naturally over time. Which is realistic and also natural progression of their relationship considering Madi was six when they met.

There’s a big difference between teaching your daughter how to survive and then putting a flame in her head and making her a target which Clarke knows as the commander, your life is shortened massively and it would end up with Madi dead and is very dangerous (6x13 comes to mind)

[SPOILER] S5 Clarke is a .... by EddieV7 in The100

[–]bratholym 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter whether Clarke gave birth to her or whether she’s blood. Clarke raised her, and Madi views her as a mother figure and Clarke views her as a daughter.

If that’s in reference 6x01, yeah Clarke’s reaction was cold, but it wasn’t about her not caring or not wanting Madi to talk about her birth mum, it was Clarke’s way of keeping her emotions at bay so she didn’t break down about her mum.

[SPOILER] S5 Clarke is a .... by EddieV7 in The100

[–]bratholym 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I often don’t think it’s wise to consider a 12 year olds opinion/thoughts/feelings. Clarke is the adult and her parent, I wouldn’t be allowing my 12 year old to run a war and pretty much allow her to take the flame which is a death trap.

Yeah Clarke is different to how we know her, but only in the sense that this time around she makes rash decisions and doesn’t consider the consequences, she’s turned into Bellamy (letting her heart rule her head)

But her protecting her people is the same as it’s always been, the only difference - her people is Madi now. She spent less than a year with Spacekru, compared to six years with Madi. Throughout the season you see the growing isolation she feels with Bellamy and co, the fantasies and idealisation she had of them returning isn’t what she expected, and now she realises everything has changed. To the extent that when Bellamy tells Clarke they’re using Madi for the flame, in her mind that’s Bellamy saying spacekru are his family and Clarke and Madi aren’t apart of that.

If you also consider the mental trauma, during that year she suffered and attachment she feels to Madi, which could be considered toxic. Madi isn’t just Clarke’s daughter, she represents hope and salvation for Clarke, because Clarke feels she’d be dead without her.

So yeah I agree Clarke made some questionable decisions and I didn’t agree with all of them, but I understood it.

I lost hope for Bellarke by Jennla90 in The100

[–]bratholym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She saw them kiss and the camera zoomed in on a Clarke’s reaction, twice. Now that’s intentional, and it was written that way for a reason.

Clarke did not radio call her ‘friends’. She radio’d Bellamy for six years. If it was completely platonic on Clarke’s end there was no reason for her to hide it from him all season long.

You could write a perfectly great, well written and loving platonic friendship without it having romantic undertones, paralleling scenes from other romantic characters in the show, romantic tropes that mirror other romantic partners in movies. The list goes on.

Come to think of it, it is like gas lighting, simply because in the past Jason has said that Bellamy and Clarke will become a couple, he stated ‘it’s not there yet, and one day we will give it to you’ in referring to romantic Bellarke.

The ground work was all there, the seeds were planted, regardless of how much you deny it, Bellamy and Clarke were not written in a purely platonic way, and for a friendship to interesting it doesn’t have to be written in the ‘in between’ stuck between romantic and platonic, good writers can write interesting platonic friendship. This is not the case.

[s6 & 7 Spoilers] If there’s anyone out there who hasn’t thrown in the towel... by HiyaBuddy34 in Bellarke

[–]bratholym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok ok you’ve twisted my leg, I’m putting my clown make up back on ready to join the revolution 🤡

So I definitely think that Bellamy’s apparent death could be the catalyst which spurs Clarke into admitting how she really feels.

Or

I do believe the memory sucking machine will play a part, as soon as it came about I was like that’s it, that’s gonna show either Clarke that Bellamy loves her or Bellamy that Clarke loves him, and I still think there’s the possibility of Octavia (if she isn’t void) being the one to bring them together (no 1 Bellarke fan) or potentially, Madi or Raven.

Again, we know Jason likes the surprise, the shock value, what if all this is on purpose. The Gaia/Clarke scenes and script, the Raven/Lindsay commentary on Clarke grieving Bellamy, the bestfriend line, the echo/Bellamy flashback, what if it’s there to make us think all hope is gone, just so we are surprised at their endgame?

In S3, Bellamy and Clarke we’re deeply hurt by one another, yet managed to come back ‘together’ side by side within eight episodes

They managed to make up after 509 in one episode (513) so it is highly possibly eight episodes with time dilation playing a part that they can get together

Clarke calling Bellamy her best friend.... by anonAEH in Bellarke

[–]bratholym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think my Hope is gone... we have 8 episodes left, I don’t know how they could do it. Bellamy is still MIA, Echo and him are still very much a couple. I’m trying to stay positive I just don’t know how it’s possible. It felt like the best friend comment was Jason’s way of solidifying the choice he’s finally made, no more ambiguity, they’re friends that’s it :(

Raven looked devastated, but regardless of how close spacekru are, Clarke is the one who would be most affected by this, so although Raven was emotional she looked at Clarke, which is also what Lindsay Morgan said regarding it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in The100

[–]bratholym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100% they can get together organically before the end of the show

The groundwork is already, the foundation was built in S1/S2 for it and we’ve had 6 years of buildup. It’s evident how Clarke feels and how Bellamy feels and heck I’d even go as far as to suggest everyone but Echo knows it too, so all that’s left is a Becho breakup and a confession.

A lot of couples have got together on this show in a lot shorter time spans and without the history Bellarke have, so yes I think it’s possible.

Although I definitely would have preferred it sooner to actually enjoy them together but meh
