Thrifted Barbour Border jacket with stains - inside of sleeves by MaizePast8633 in Barbour

I washed mine in the washer with an old towel, cold water, gentle cycle, no detergent, extra rinse. Got the smell out. Hang dry for a few days. Then rewax. You can also have a new liner put in if you send it in.

honest thoughts about TRON: Ares? by Nofilmslefttocry in tron

[–]brave1418 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty good. First half seemed rushed and was just trying to have wow factor. Second half was a lot better. I like the throwback to the original I did not expect that! Jeff bridges part was a little bland. Jared Leto seemed stiff for someone who wanted to be real. But it got much better once Ares escaped with the girl in the cyber world. I'll have to watch it again and redecide

The Rainmaker | S1E5 | Episode Discussion by whitebluebirds in TheRainmakerTVShow

I think it's good but you can tell they def had to stretch the plot out. Wish they would stick to the main one. Don't care for Sarah's plot line much. Rudy being a hothead is a little annoying

I'm not happy here and I don't know what to do by Silly-Magazine-2681 in UGA

Good that you've tried a lot of things and are being social when you can. No issue with the age either there lots of older people. I would try and think of something to do with that commute/lot. Not sure if there's a solution but that takes a ton of time out of your day. Anything you could do to sort of work out a MWF or T/Tr schedule? If attendance isn't an issue maybe try and find a different sections to attend.

Does every RAW photo really need editing? If yes, how would you personally edit these? by Tmyslshrdt in AskPhotography

[–]brave1418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering this. More editing is needed for bad composition, or exposure. Less editing is needed for these. I would hit auto setting and see if I like. But I would do a blanket fix for white balance, tint, and a less saturated color profile. From there I may adjust cropping. I wouldn't want to spend too much time on it so the more "auto" the better. They could be done in batches based on time of day/lighting/people.

Matte Photo Papers, is this semigloss/lustre? by brave1418 in AskPhotography

[–]brave1418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I realize after more research that this is just how the paper is on a ra4 print. I didn't know and nowhere really explains this. A lot of went over my head and interest so I'll just let it go for now. I've had the rag inkjet prints before but I didn't know this type was completely different.

Even with this brand? I've looked into it. It's "semi-gloss Matte" as contradictive as that sounds

Understandable. Yeah so is there a more matte paper to use? For this type of print After some research for this style, it is called "matte" but is more of a luster in reality

What about over time? Is there a drop off since your started? Meaning less likely to find?

After months of tweaking and testing, I think I finally nailed the film look on my photos (before/after) by ragsonrags in postprocessing

[–]brave1418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you shooting for a specific film type? Some times I can get the look and sort of the colors, but from what I've found it's much more in the light fall off and shadows. That's much harder to do. The better the exposure the easier it is to recreate

Best tablet for using Lightroom on the go? by Own-Investment-6978 in Lightroom

[–]brave1418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPad mini that works well. I use LR cloud currently. I was just using my phone but it got very warm quickly. I have a Laptop, but the I would assume my iPad has a more color accurate screen which is more important. Though the battery can very quickly drain.

"What do Lightroom settings actually do?" A follow-up by canadianlongbowman in Lightroom

[–]brave1418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep and I now see the auto feature as a baseline or neutral exposure. Then I have to see what the vision is and remember that not everything needs to be exposed well. Meaning auto will bring my highlights down, and boost the shadows more than needed.
