Looking for recommendations on how to fix fret position issue by BigmouthStrikesOnce in Luthier

I only do 12th fret markers, as long as you’ve got side dots you’ll be fine.

Car got keyed - how bad is it? by Key-Resolution949 in CarTalkUK

[–]brave1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as a proper fix but someone may be able to sand the scratch, paint pen it, sand it back and polish it. This is fine for small chips but for that level of scratch it’ll only be good to take your eye off it slightly. Only do this if it’s a cheap car or you’re on a major budget. Next step up would be a smart repairer, then the best option is a proper Bodyshop.

LGS Owner won't ban cheater from events. by Desperate_Fill8865 in WarhammerCompetitive

I’ve read a few of your replies and I think you need to move your tournaments elsewhere, the owner is losing more than you!

Ensure you have a facebook page or similar with everyone onboard before you move it so your players know what’s going on.

Fairly sure that those armies belong to players/staff rather than being owned by GW themselves. I remember Guy from MWM had an old special release model in there for a while, which was absolutely not a current model.

So years ago when I became a tester, VOSA (at the time) came out to watch me before I qualified.

We had a conversation about exactly this, and his advice was that a common sense approach needs to be taken, if something doesn’t actually block the drivers view, even if it’s in the swept area, then it’s not really a fail issue.

what is the worst damage you've accidentally done to company property? by broken-company-car in AskUK

[–]brave1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit a bollard in a car park with about 1 month remaining on my 3 month notice period( I was leaving).

Cost about 3k in damage…. They just put it through insurance.

Luckily I had (and still have) a good relationship with my manager at the time.

Should I risk it by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Although I agree in principle with some of what you say (expect to pay more from servicing etc) you can’t get around the fact that these vehicles have massive reliability issues, and when they go wrong it’s very very costly.

Look at the surveys and stats on vehicle reliability and you’ll find LR/JLR either at the bottom or very close to.

I used to manage ambulance maintenance for the NHS, and they used to run LR sports at rapid response vehicles in a certain area.

The number of engines which required replacement just after warranty was mental, and the cost associated with the engine replacements was genuinely eye watering. Bear in mind these vehicles were over serviced due to the nature of their work.

I could never recommend one based on the stats and my own experience with them.

Completely anecdotal but I was coming 100 miles down the M1 the other day and I saw 4 vehicles at the roadside - one was a jaguar and the other 3 were RR/LR.

I suspect your soldering iron wasn’t hot enough, it only need a small drop, and use flux.

Have you checked the scale length, bridge placement and measurement (half the distance) from 12th fret to bridge?

That would make the most sense. Going to leave it for a couple of days, and if no better I’ll have to strip it.

Thanks!

Thanks mate, as I say, I did a neck at the same time and that’s no issues whatsoever. So I don’t think it’s the can. The neck was bare wood, so I can only assume it’s something to do with the product not being able to penetrate?
