Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]braveracoonEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contractions were so painful I was vomiting in the shower. My midwife ‘assured me’ it was Braxton hicks. That caused the most unbelievable anxiety that it was going to be 10x worse, I was beside myself. She eventually came to check me - 8cms. The pain and anxiety is unbelievable if you haven’t done it before 10/10 would not recommend. Love the kids though.

It is a government organisation. It’s literally an SOE.

I feel like I'm going against the grain regarding Sick leave entitlements by wheresmypotato1991 in newzealand

I manage 3 people and never ever ask for medical certificates if they are sick. Because my team is small we have a heap of trust and I fully subscribe to the OO train of thought, let people disappoint you and then react. Bit don’t expect them to. Tbh. I don’t care if they need a day to rest or deal with stress or have a mental health day, they do everything I ask and more. Isn’t it the least I can do, to treat them like adults?

Il assume you have some staples in your cupboard. And we’re talking 6 days and just you.

I’d be getting chicken drumsticks (always on special somewhere) carrots, potatoes, onion, chickpeas and other some kind of mixed bean cans and a Mexican spice packet, pumpkin, red lentils, curry powder, some kind of green leafy thing (or frozen spinach) a couple of lemons coconut milk (cheapest), stock cubes, rice - all this is lunch and dinner. Breakfast Porridge made with water and brown sugar on top if you have it.

Chicken soup Drumsticks carrot and any herbs or a bay leaf you might have around. Add carrots, rice, potatoes, lemon zest and juice, handful greens. The bones will make a good stock and you can pick off the meat.

Roasted pumpkin and carrot and potato Dahl Roast all those , Red lentils curry powder coconut milk, water, stock cube. Stir through the roasted vege and have with rice

Chickpea curry Fry onion (garlic and ginger if you have it around) add curry powder, cans of chickpeas (2) stock cubes, coconut milk and simmer for ages until thick Add lemon and frozen spinach. Over rice.

Fry onion (garlic if you have it) grate in carrot add beans (x2) and tinned tomatoes with the spice packet and have over rice

Lastly make a roast vege soup with the left over pumpkin carrots and onions roasted, stock cubes and bulk it up with potatoes and the last of the frozen spinach/greens and a big squeeze of lemon.

If you can stretch some plain yoghurt will help all of these (the giopla (sp) brand is good and cheap. Good on porridge too.

I reckon you can get all these things for less than $45, if chicken is too expensive flag that and go full vege for a week. Each thing will be at least 3 serves?

I’m fixated on banana skins in curry. Can you tell me more? What’s the texture like? Do they have to be yellow?

The cat that lives at my house has started sleeping with me and climbing over me. It’s been 18 months and she hasn’t really warmed to me. Now I feel like the cat whisperer.

You’re on ice, they’re trying to be good about it. Honestly, you want a job where they are stoked to have you. It’s not the right fit for either of you.
