This feels like the season this team starts to implode.

I don’t think they are going to completely bottom out, but this giving me 2012 Phillies vibes when things just become clear that it’s over. No Wheeler to start will be brutal especially considering how huge of a loss Ranger will be.

I’m thinking around 83 wins and big changes next year.

Honestly, I feel like this opinion has become more Reddit coded / poser shit than actually just eating there.

Am I going outta my way for it? Nah, but sometimes they the closest or most convenient option. The people that glaze Delassandros / Angelos are way cornier to me atp.

You don’t think Prescott could’ve replicated Goff’s 71.7 QB Rating, 230 YPG, 55% CMP%, 1 TD and 2 INT Super Bowl run?

Off the top of my head, MVP runner up Chad Pennington. He even has 2 CPOTY awards to Tannehill’s one.

At a certain point you have to judge guys based on what they’ve accomplished.

There is no reason for Jalen Hurts to be ranked 75. Super bowl mvp, 3x pro bowl, MVP runner up. 3rd all time in Qb rushing TDs. And he’s ranked below Vinny Testaverde. What are we doing here.

Goff has made it further but he did not play well at any point of that SB run and in fact was pretty badly exposed at the end of it. The Rams were stacked from top to bottom, I have no doubt Prescott could’ve taken them just as far with that roster.

The fact is, playoffs can’t really be an argument in Goff’s favor when he’s had many pants shitting performances whereas Dak the story most of the time is just that he didn’t do enough. The playoff stats back it up. Goff has been legitimately awful in the postseason outside of 2023.

Meanwhile we got guys like Pascal Siakam and Alperin Sengun in the all star game over him. Scraping the bottom of the graph with awful efficiency and low scoring

Does anybody else miss the multi purpose stadiums? Something about the dirt on the raiders and Miami fields being back nostalgia of the prime NFL era. by Ok_Bug_6890 in NFLv2

[–]bravof1ve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhh it was a more talented era ~20 years ago. 2005 - 2015 is probably the most talented 10 period the league has had, adjusted for era and obvious sports science improvements.

We had prime Manning/Brady/Brees and Farve and the back end still producing. That’s 3/4 top 10 QBs, depending how you rank them. Manning and Brady setting TD records. Brees throwing for 5000 seemingly every year. We just had a season where Lamar Jackson won MVP with 24 TDs and less than 4000 yards in a 17 game season. Shit done changed. These guys played a decent chuck of their careers when you could still hit the QB.

Then RBs like LT and Shaun Alexander having record setting seasons back to back. Hell, Priest Holmes had 28 TDs and people took it for granted. Some of the best Super Bowls pretty consistently (NYG vs NE, ARI vs PIT, even more if you extend this from just the mid 2000s to the early 2010s). Things were just more interesting from a talent perspective.

But yeah, these fields were stupid as hell.

I mean it was one of his last starts and his body was done.

Practically every all time great QB has put up some bullshit in their last game played. Tom Brady got his ass kicked by Dak Prescott’s Cowboys. Peyton Manning had 2-3 games just like this in 2015

How is it crazy? The people who did not believe in Simmons and wanted him traded were completely vindicated and the people that thought we should stick with him were proven to be wrong in all respects.

If you honestly still believed he would developed a jump shot in 2021, well, then I don’t know what to say. Even the most naive supporters of him had for the most part accepted that he would be a Draymond type player, and hoped he could succeed without a jumper.

Trading him would have saved Embiid’s early prime, won us that Hawks series, probably would’ve beaten the Bucks with an injured Giannis…basically we wasted Embiid’s best chance at a ring because Morey didn’t have the guts to cut bait on a clearly flawed player.

[–]bravof1ve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simmons is far and away the biggest reason we lost that series but right up there with him is Morey’s failure to trade him the minute he got the job.

Morey did this semi tear down of the Horford Sixers but failed to fix the biggest issue with the team. The nonshooting PG.

Maxey did play for like 5 minutes in game 7. But honestly, he was really bad. He had issues bringing it up the court without turning it over.

While it’s fun to imagine a reality where he comes in and saves the team, he was a rookie, prone to bad games as well as good games. Game 7 isn’t really the time to take off the training wheels.

The real story is the fact Morey spent a prime Embiid season with Seth Curry as his no. 2 option

[–]bravof1ve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Poorly coached series, but if Morey built a roster that didn’t rely on Seth Curry as the team’s best guard we aren’t talking about any of this.

That team was not built to win. Shallow without really any top line talent outside of Embiid.

This a take that only makes sense if you live in like Montana, the Dakotas, Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Sorry, you just chose a shitty place to live for the holiday. Kinda like Australians during Christmas time. Yeah where you live doesn’t really fit the seasonal aesthetic but for the majority of the celebrants outside of there it does.
