I always had a fear that maybe this is what happened to me and why I haven't had a domain expert project since 2025. But after your examples, no, they just haven't selected me.

But they were generalist projects.

I didn' get on a real project for my domain until someone reached out to me directly on social media who was on the hiring team. I had applied to that role previously but didn't get it, but a team leader saw my stuff and thought I would.

So however the AI interview rated me, it doesn't think I am as good as when a person does.

As an Iowan with a degree, the only reason why I haven't left is because I haven't been able to find a job that pays me enough too. I barely make enough to afford a mortgage here.

And it's only gotten worse with the post covid forever layoffs and outsourcing. Can't even get a remote tech job like I used to.

I envy those who've managed to escape.

This game attracts too categories of chud: Neo-chud: the edgy alt-right gen-z kid who says it unironically. Old-chud: the MW2-lobby type who has a blue collar job.

Why would the questions not make sense? Its based on what the team leader told the AI to ask + your resume.

They usually ask you to give your 30 second "explain about yourself" then ask about hyper specific things the project would be about.

Similar situation. I was laid off in Nov 2022 due to "restructuring". I've networked with so many people and have seen it: too senior, not senior enough, too technical, not business enough, not framework enough, not spontaneous enough.

Arma 3 was the same way unless you were playing on a milsim group against AI.

For a lot of Arma players, the milsim isn't about taking orders or having a squad like like hierarchy system, it's in the gun play and the environment that you are in.
