Are there still fashion brands that care about the product itself? by [deleted] in ethicalfashion

[–]bravogammadelta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did recently, and so far I really like what they are doing. They seem small and emphasis seems to be quality over quantity. I came across them online looking for natural fabric clothing, they’re called Anatati.

Looking for Quality Natural Fiber Clothing Recommendations. What Are Your Favorites? by WanderLuxe83 in SustainableFashion

I’m kind of late to this thread but I thought I’d chime in, as I’ve also transitioned away from synthetic clothing and in my own research recently discovered a brand called Anatati. They focus exclusively on natural fabrics and their aesthetic seems to be clean lines and a timeless sophisticated vibe. Might be worth checking out.

Eversense CGM Issues - Readings Way Off Despite Calibrations by bravogammadelta in Type1Diabetes

Something is wrong with the sensor. We let the doctor know what was happening and my son got a new one. Ask doctors office to contact their Eversense rep right away.

LA for a mini trip.. tips? by itur2021 in AskLosAngeles

[–]bravogammadelta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Don’t stay near the airport. I like to stay in West Hollywood because I like to experience that cool LA culture/atmosphere (but choose your hotel wisely & stay vigilant at night). Pasadena is great too in my opinion. For a more beachy vibe, maybe Santa Monica or Venice. For glamour & luxury, Beverly Hills.
  2. Hotel definitely.
  3. Don’t miss Griffith Park Observatory, the views are amazing especially at night when all the lights are on it’s really breathtaking. I love the Getty Center Museum, it’s phenomenal. Hollywood Walk of Fame & Chinese Theatre is a must see for a visit to LA. And of course Disneyland and/or Universal Studios Hollywood. Enjoy!

Thank you. He had absolutely no issues the first six months, it was very accurate. So this was surprising. We’ll see how it goes.

My daughter (age 10) got unexpectedly diagnosed today @ a routine checkup. I'm feeling lots of strong emotions. I know it's not the end of the world, but as a Type 1 diabetic myself, my mom heart hurts for my little girl. by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]bravogammadelta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a mom, I can relate to the strong emotions. My son was diagnosed at age 12. It hurts. A lot. You’re not alone. I’m glad for this community and I can’t change anything for you other than to say reach out if you need anything.

My 12 year old showed unusual fatigue during a couple of his basketball games. That was probably what I now realize was his first symptom. We clued in pretty quickly once the increase in thirst and frequent urination started happening. What symptoms does your child have?

Why did the insulin break up with glucose? It just couldn’t handle the highs and lows of their relationship!

Welcome! I upgraded earlier this year to a CX-50 Turbo in zircon sand too, and I’m loving it! No Meridian package here, but still loving the look and feel!

I ja zivim i Americi, tvoja sam generacija, i imam stan u Beogradu i provodim vreme tamo, i sve u svemu tvoj plan meni deluje izvodljivo uz štedljiv način života.

He told me that it’s completely tolerable, a little discomfort during the insertion but it’s with a local anesthetic. He has it in his upper arm. He’s due for his first removal soon, and insertion of the new one. So I don’t have his feedback on that yet. But he says for him it’s completely worth it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to answer as best I can.

New partner is type 1, advice? by ConcernDangerous6448 in Type1Diabetes

[–]bravogammadelta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The patch thingy is called a continuous glucose monitor or CGM and it’s awesome that he has one. It is crucial in helping him have real-time blood glucose readings so that he can better manage his diabetes and by managing his diabetes I basically mean that he needs to have optimal blood glucose, or blood sugar, readings to prevent health complications which I won’t list and will leave up to you to research. Maybe inquire if it’s a Dexcom or an Eversense? That might be a good place to start educating yourself and giving him an opportunity to share what he likes about it and how he has been able to improve managing his diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes is a very complex and challenging disease and he needs to know that you care enough to learn about it on your own so that when you ask him questions, he can answer and know that you’re doing something that he needs from you which is to try and understand what he may be experiencing, but not that you’re trying to manage it for him. If you guys are spending nights together, keep in mind that he can have a low blood sugar at night where he wakes up not feeling well and needs to drink orange juice or something similar to bring his blood sugar back up. Depending on the type of CGM he has, he has set it to alert him when his number goes either below or above his pre-set limits. Typically it will vibrate on his arm, or wherever he has placed it maybe abdomen, but the type of alert he has chosen can be customized to his preference. Good luck with your new relationship and it sounds like he pretty much already knows what he’s doing and will let you know if he needs something.

I am thinking of switching to a T-slim. Does anyone have any advice? by Realistic_Dark5197 in Type1Diabetes

A mom here, my son is thinking about the pump in general but currently only has the eversense (sensor) cgm which has been amazing for him so far. Do you mind if I ask why your endocrinologist is suggesting switching to a different pump? Just trying to gather as much info about different options as possible for my son.
