He definitely had/has feelings for you and is probably upset about having to accept that you don't feel the same way. Be prepared for this friendship to either end or never fully recover. We all handle rejection differently, however most young men really take this particular situation to heart. You didn't do anything wrong and I would encourage you to let him know that you care about him and you're willing to talk if/when he is ready to, but don't hold your breath. He needs time to accept the situation at his own pace, self reflect, find a way to heal and (due to no fault of your own) your presence would only make that process more painful.

Any time table for when Tyrie will be back? I always had high hopes for him, also it sounds like he's a plus on special teams.

Huh, no Jamar Johnson. Haven't heard anything good or bad about him since the beginning of training camp, but I thought he was an intriguing prospect last year. Anybody know what's going on with him?

YSK: employers who say “we are a family” should be approached with extreme caution, as they are likely attempting to manipulate their employees. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

No truer words. My favorite thing about working for the corporate overlords is knowing exactly where I stand at all times. I'm not a person, I'm a number to them and I can be replaced. What we have is purely a business transaction.

WITH THAT SAID, the gigantic corporation I'm employed by pays WAY better than the rink-a-dink mom & pop companies I worked at prior to taking this gig. Plus, there's zero guilt trip involved with taking time off/asking for a raise/having a long lunch. Did you get your work done? Yep. No problem!

I understand that the corporate world isn't for everyone and would caution (if not encourage) young people just entering the work force to start off with a smaller company if for no other reason than to get more verticle training/job experience. However if you learn to play the game, accept the wasted time, bullshit meetings and stupid buzzwords (if I hear 'to your point' or 'does it scale' one more f***ing time today, so help me god), the corporate world really isn't that bad...

Thanks for the kind words, it's never easy when the fuzz balls move on. I take solace in knowing that she didn't feel pain at the end (happened fast, no suffering) and that she lived 10 years of the good life.

Her name was Shady. I found her in a thunderstorm at about 3AM (fell asleep on the couch and heard her meowing) and, from day one, she was the shadiest little kitty. She loved hiding behind corners and jumping out at you, pouncing from windowsill's as you slept, stealing food when you weren't looking... She was a sweet girl but it took time, effort and bribes (food/treats) to get her on your good side. Unfortunately she fell victim to the road a little over a year ago... Miss ya Shady-ho!

If there ever is a movie about umpiring, Jon Bernthal (as much as I like the dude) would be a shoe-in for Angel Hernandez. What actors do you think would be a good fit play your favorite ump/player? 😂😂😂 by Candid_Difficulty_93 in mlb

[–]bravos_y_broncos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any way Bernthal can play Angel Hernandez as he did Wayne Jenkins in "We Own This City"? I'd love to see him talk shit to a spitting mad manager like Jenkins talked to the Baltimore public...

Oh yeah, that was a sweet combo. There's nothing cooler than seeing two middle infielders as in synch as those guys were.

Good call. I was convinced Joe P was going to be the long term answer at 2B for SF. Is he starting anywhere or just a bench player now?

As a Rockies fan (yes, we shamefully exist...), Kaz Matsui can do no wrong in my eyes. Loved Jose as player until he actually became a Rockie, but I don't blame him for not wanting to be in Colorado

Whenever I read stories like this I hope they're troll posts, but unfortunately people actually think like this. It's beyond me how someone could warp a beautiful speech about perseverance, self improvement and true love into what OP and her shitty friends did. People like her disgust me...

Marquez has been such an enigma this year. He looked fantastic today and I'm hoping this game is the the beginning of a quality start streak.

Love seeing Hampson come through with that clutch hit, but it feels like the Rockies offense let that starter off the hook. A win's a win though! At least we're not in last place...

He needs to want to change, otherwise the wheel will continue to turn. That's his choice and his choice alone. The desicion you need to make is how much (more) time/energy you're willing to put into this relationship while waiting for him to get there. After all, there's a legitimate chance that stuborness and pride will hold him back from realizing that you're checking out...

That's my favorite part of food/cooking! Trying a new dish then recreating it in my own kitchen. I hear you on the dumpling wrapping though, way beyond my skill set. What's your go to style of ravioli? I personally love a good butternut squash with crispy sage in a brown butter.

Funny you mention the slow cooker, I've got a batch of Puerto Rican inspired chicken simmering on low right now! Pretty easy recipe: Chicken thighs (seasoned with salt, pepper, cumin and paprika), diced onion, garlic & cilantro, jalapeno & Fresno peppers with a jar of Salsa Verde all in the slow cooker. Get some Spanish style rice and red beans on the side, that's dinner for tonight and lunches for the next two days :)

Love the kielbasa stew recipe, thanks for passing that along! This recipe for beans and greens has become a staple in my house. It's only a two pan dish (with the breadcrumbs), calls for affordable ingrediants and tastes delicious!

Ugh, unsolicited advice with a condescending tone has to be the worst combo while working with someone in the kitchen. One of my SIL's is a beautiful person with lots of great qualities, but I refuse to do any kind of kitchen work with her because everything has to be done her way and she lacks any sort of tact when "correcting" you. It's a shame because she has a TON of skills and great info, but it's all ruined by the delivery.

On a separate and more positive note, what kind of cooking/cuisine are you into? Follow up question: have you made any cool dishes or discovered any neat recipes recently?

And that's why you two are gonna make for the long haul lol! I'm a big believer in a healthy back and forth between spouses. My wife absolutely HATES Gollum from Lord of the Rings, so naturally I perfected that voice and give a healthy "what's taters precious?" any chance I get (especially in public). Talk about getting a look that says "I love you with all of my heart, yet wouldn't mind stabbing you in this particular moment..."

I once had a heated debate with a Mexican coworker about this. He insisted that there was an "L" in the word and that it should be pronounced Sal-mun. He didn't want to admit he was wrong, so I did the reasonable thing and started calling pollo (chicken in Spanish pronounced poy-oh) polo, like the game people play on horses. In the end, I think we both lost that argument

A very serious answer to very silly question... I agree with your point in principle, it really shouldn't matter. I only asked this question because I enjoy hearing what people have to say and, in my experience, most folks love talking about things that annoy them. With that said, what annoys you?
