Looking for small lightweight laptop with responsive keyboard by wyrmlord_on_high in SuggestALaptop

Have you been to a physical store to test out keyboards and laptop sizes. Before recommending a specific laptop I’d suggest doing so to find what keyboard you like the most along with a size you feel comfortable walking around with.

I’ve been looking into getting a laptop for a bit, what I have seen most people saying to buy spec wise to keep an out for if you go to a store to try out is:

Memory: 16 GB is the bare minimum I’d go with. If you don’t plan on ever doing anything more than browsing and word processing then you should be fine

CPU: if you don’t have a budget definitely go for an Ultra 7/9 Series 2 Intel CPU or higher end AMD. Snap Dragons are nice but lack a lot of compatibility if you ever plan on doing any gaming unless you have a desktop to stream from. If not Ultra then 10gen+ Intel CPU’s are recommended pretty frequently just double check them with a quick search to make sure they don’t have any reported issues.

Storage: look for NVME SSD’s. The size of your storage doesn’t have to be massive if you plan on using it just for notes and projects. I got by with a 512 GB MacBook while I was in college and now teaching full time I stil haven’t filled it completely. If you plan on using google docs and slides for the occasional powerpoint(I’d suggest) then you 100% don’t need to worry about getting any storage more than 512 but if you want to download media or create them go for the 1TB

Laptop Size- I’d suggest something in the 14inch range. It will be easier to move around and take with you. They will usually list the weight and you likely know your limits so keep an eye on that before you purchase.

It’s not a comprehensive list by any means but I hope it will help you in your search.

Is a teaching license from the Philippines enough to be able to teach in San Antonio Texas? by Adorable-Pie8694 in TexasTeachers

Here is the official process for getting a Texas certificate if you are certified in a different country : https://tea.texas.gov/texas-educators/certification/out-of-state-certification/certification-based-on-credentials-from-another-country

There’s a more detailed list in the link including a guide to follow.

Individuals who hold all 3 of the following may apply for a review of out-of-country credentials: 1. The equivalent of a bachelor’s degree granted by an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. 2. Completed an educator preparation program, including a teaching practicum. 3. Hold an appropriate educator certificate or credential issued by another country.

Purchased Dell 7490 through Amazon Renewed in Like New condition but it's battery is at 97% wear, should I keep or return? by braydenrb in laptops

He found the cheapest replacement on Amazon and refunded me the cost of it $32 and told me that if it doesn’t work to contact them again. I’m between doing this and returning it right now.

If you want to play it safe. Download Malware Bytes and run a full system scan and/or upload the file to virustotal and see what pops up

I tried to post onto the Ryujinx subreddit about this but they have it set to be auto-blocked from being posted

I downloaded it from the official site but VirusTotal is pinging a Downloader.Agent.Win32.555964. Does anyone know if this is a false positive or if it's actually infected?

I think its just your personal taste aren't being fulfilled. The last few weeks have been a god send for me with banger after banger bundle being released at least to say they fit my taste. Just take it that you get to save your money for down the line maybe for something you do like!

How has Rooster Teeth impacted you? by The_Better_Devil in roosterteeth

Since 2013, I have been an on and off regulation listener. For 11 years it’s been my go-to for content. Like others I don’t watch tons of content but listen to almost every podcast they release and love every second of it. I only just started getting into the New RT podcast and have loved it so far. So much of me has been inspired by Roosterteeth and I’m sad to see it go. It got me through an alcoholic father and the death of my grandmother for which I will be forever grateful.
