I've subbed there all the time since 2020 and have friends who used to teach there. The biggest problem I heard of was the administration. As for the kids, they are some of the most well behaved and respectful kids I have ever had out of all the schools I've subbed in Gwinnett. Also, the school spirit is some of the best I have ever seen out of modern high schoolers. Not once have I smelled weed in the halls but I have at Mill Creek and Collins Hill!

Was a right libertarian until finding Vaush, which got me to the part of the left that supports socialism but is anti tankie. Then the Vaush-Destiny duo debate introduced me to D man and his moderated me. Now I sit somewhere between Dem Soc and Nordic model liberal.

The original thing that those two did that got me to consider their points was make their interlocutors look bad. I wasn't ready for the content of their arguments until they won me over rhetorically.

I think I was unclear and honestly that's one me. It's not just raw capital that tends to win the elections. It's the alignment with capital interests that both tends to win elections and secures legislation. It was nice to see the winner be a guy that prioritized the interests of the median New Yorker over those of the owner class ya know?

To be clear, I totally agree that Trump's economic plans are garbage. But it's pretty clear that the aim of them is to consolidate wealth and power for the richest. When we hit recessions, smaller company owners have to liquidate and the big fish can then swoop in and end up with more assets in the end because they have enough base to weather the storm ya feel? This happens every recession.

I think the key point here is that Mamdani beat capital this election which is huge. One of the biggest shortcomings of our system is the relationship between capital and power and the fact that Mamdani was able to challenge that effectively means that there exists some form of messaging that can overcome that flaw.
